MoM was kind of disappointing as the climax of the New Phyrexia arc but it was insanely fun to see characters join forces to fight Phyrexians or get compleated. kind of a "wasted potential" moment but I really wanted to point this out.

the Harry Potter movies start off light-hearted and genuinely enjoyable but then by the 4th movie the franchise decides it's SERIOUS and wants to be taken SERIOUSLY and the movies just... keep getting worse from there. Genuine snoozefests.

imo this master duel event perfectly shows differences between fusion/xyz and synchro
fusion & xyz (somewhat): actually interesting play patterns that offer many ways of interacting with your opponent

the great tragedy of Yu-Gi-Oh is that it is entirely reliable on nostalgiabaiting to get casuals interested in it, but no format whatsoever for casuals
you can't even just buy product and enjoy simple kitchen table YGO because every product is made for the one competitive format

unironically agree, at this point ash does nothing to stop decks printed after 2022 because every new archetype is packaged with like 7 ways to keep going even after getting ash'd. ash is largely responsible for the powercreep in recent years and it'd be better it it was gone.
