3years ago, today, I was brutally raped along Kiambu Rd & right opposite my daughter's school.
Since, I have done the conscious decision to heal that I didn't remember it at all until now.
And I didn't breakdown.
I'm a happy, content, healing girl.
Truly the woman of my dreams.
I'm so proud of Elsa Majimbo.
Standing up to a powerful bully is not easy, the girl was shaking but she did it anyway.
It follows then, that I'll always be on her side. A 22 year old who dared to take on a very powerful mean girl is to be protected at all costs.

A man just grabbed my ass, without consent, a few minutes ago.
The way I swung around and punched him X2 in the mouth before some men intervened.
Men are so quick to come to the aid of other men. Had I asked for their help they'd have shut up.
I wish he lost a tooth
Sex work is sex work. We are not going to shame sex workers just because yours is better packaged.
If we are being honest, everyone is a sexworker.
'Ooh me I am better, I am more ethical, I am moral coz I stay months with the men.'
No you're not.
Drink water & touch grass
I promise you. No amount of turning yourself into a pretzel stick for men's approval will protect you from being the next dead woman in Kenya.
Your silence will not protect you.
Your good girl persuasion will not protect.
Throwing other women under the bus will not protect you.
Not a man sending me the forest road video captioned ‘You can relate Martha given that incident you told me about. You were so lucky you didn’t die. But we are all exposed.’ The incident was my rape. I was raped and this man thinks I was really lucky…
I'm perpetually angry at Ruto and Gachagua.
I've never seen a duo so obsessed with shipping Kenyans out for cheap labour. Modern day slavery is their entire work plan 😡
Jason, need I remind you that the west is the reason why we are here?
You need the carbon credits and we are being forced to make sure that's available to you and your ilk so maybe sit this one out.
Airbnbs are not killing women
Hotels are not killing women
Money is not killing women
Sex is not killing women
Men are killing women underscoring a troubling contempt and disregard for women's lives and bodies.

I'm sitting with a man who is telling me how he has trained himself to go with one meal a day because the economy is so bad.
Meanwhile your president is out here cosplaying stability/development for white people.
We are dying Sir, have some shame.
Do men think we are fighting femicide means we don't ever want to give birth to male children or that we hate our sons?
Ati 'may you give birth to a male child.'
Sir, don't threaten me with a good time. I'll raise a great man.
Going back & forth with men about femicide will wear you down.
Those who want to learn have done so without needing PowerPoint presentations from would-be victims.
Rest of em are looking 4 a thrill. To see how far you'd go to justify your humanity .They get off on distractions.
Every time! Like clockwork, the silence of the 'good men' is deafening when it's time to speak up against femicide in Kenya.
May you choke on that goodness.
🙄🙄🙄
I love feminists.
The growth since 2019 can be felt.
2024 is the year that we shake this country.
I love it for us.
So proud of y'all Kenyan Feminists 🥹🥹
My people forever!
May history remember kindly every woman, man, LGBTQ+ person, ally, comrade who marched in solidarity with Kenyan women today.
There is no liberation without solidarity and no solidarity without liberation

God bless Kenyan feminists who started this fight decades ago. Today at least we can all agree the targeted killing of women is femicide.
You gave us language and while the needle hasn't moved much, it's moving.
We are able to recognize this violence for what it is coz of y'all.
You see the thing about femicide is, there's only so many safety measures a woman can put in place.
One manager flew all the way to the USA to have his wife murdered, this one murdered his girlfriend in the USA and fled to Kenya.
It's a pandemic .
This man is accused of killing his girlfriend in Boston then flying to Kenya. Kevin Kinyanjui Kang'ethe was arrested at a club in Parklands, Nairobi & is due to be sent back to the US.
Margaret Mbitu's body was found at Boston Logan Airport's garage 2 days after she went missing
You people drawing inspiration from William Ruto talking about he beat systems are so funny.
He is literally the system, he has always been a front row seat member of the system.
Kwani mko nchi ingine?
It's no coincidence that this article painting Beyonce as a champion of liberation came out on the same day tickets for her film in Tel Aviv, Israel went live.
She's nobody's saviour. Just another capitalist who doesn't care about Palestine
When Beyoncé's legacy is appraised, the documentaries she has released throughout her career will reflect the history of a legend — but also a mother, wife, and champion of liberation.
More:
The overwhelming joy, love, pride, and sense of community I experienced while marching with thousands of women, men, and comrades nationwide is indescribable. Today marks a historic moment that resonates with a profound sense of accomplishment and solidarity.

The day I stopped using Always pads was the day I knew peace. It just hit me that I haven't been itchy, burnt, in pain since I quit using P&G menstrual products.
A year ago today, I woke up with an Always pad stuck to my bum, after twisting during the night. This caused a rash the next day and after a weekend of pain, I was admitted to hospital with necrotising fasciitis and septic shock.
Men and sometimes women are so obsessed with teaching wayward, unchaste women a lesson, that their first reaction to femicide is 'Yeah, that will show them. Those evil women without morals.'
It speaks to a deep hatred, a disregard for the bodies they seem less than.
The convergence of incel culture, the manosphere, masculinity coaches, red pill ideology, and rampant misogyny sets the stage for devaluing women and contributes to the alarming conditions fostering a spike in femicide in Kenya.
Your politicians are here trying to water down our achievements with 'you should have had the girlies come worship us,' meanwhile women are in meetings making moves.
Nandi women and allies are marching Kesho.
Bunyala is marching soon.
WE ARE FOCUSED on ending femicide.
Remember when Uhuru evicted Kariobangi residents from their homes deep in the night during COVID lockdowns?
Remember the serious extra judicial killings?
Remember how his response to everything was sa mnataka nifanye?
Remember how he intimidated judges?
He is no Messiah.
Uhuru and his presidency had issues from here to Timbuktu but he wasn't unhinged, he wasn't cruel and he wasn't a psychological case study. He wasn't THIS, and that's also the truth. Since we're speaking the truth, LET'S SPEAK THE TRUTH 🤷🏾♀️
All women ever do is put our safety first.
What else do you want us to do. Lock ourselves in our houses and never leave?
P.S Women are more likely to be killed at home, by a person they know, than outside by a stranger.
I don't understand this take.
I honestly think no amount of activism will stop femicide.
It's now up to the ladies to put their safety first, it's sad it has come to this but it might be the only feasible solution.
My bisexual friend recounted on her facebook, how terrified she was when she went to make her hair and these women were discussing the recent supreme court ruling. Some of the women lamented the 'legalization' of homosexuality which 1. Isn't factual. 2. Shouldn't have to be (1/3)
Nick Ndeda and Muthoni Gitau have me out here mourning a relationship I wasn't even part of.
What happens to our cats, who gets custody, our big house?
I wish them the very best in this next phase, happiness, love and growth

How can he relate? Is he the survivor, is he the victim? Death isn’t the worst thing. Try living with the trauma for a lifetime.
Pauline, you'd be languishing in a concentration camp called 'gícagi.'
Fantasizing about fairy dust and tales cannot erase the brutality that is colonialism.
Be a bit serious.
If Kenya was still colonized (which would be a very unfortunate thing from very many perspectives), Nairobi and other cities and towns would be well planned, very organized and clean. Money collected by city and town councils would also be put into proper use to provide all
Ensuring full respect for a woman's reproductive autonomy should be the foremost consideration in determining sterilization provision and policy. Coercive or forceful sterilization of HIV+ women is unethical.
Evil! Just evil!
Four Kenyan women living with HIV have won a legal battle against Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Marie Stopes International and state-run Pumwani Maternity Hospital over being sterilised without their informed consent.
This is their story.
#WorldAIDSDay
What do politicians mean when they say 'We are African and Africa is our business?'
Because if there's a group completely removed from the realities of Africans it is politicians.
The reason you lot are pressed over Eliud Kipchoge coming in 10 is, you equate success to never having a bad day at work.
Plus you want him humbled so bad.
I'm sorry. Go to therapy.
Or take your burdens to the Lord in Prayer.
Resist the deceptive seduction of distraction in the fight against Femicide in Kenya.
Kenyans brought the entire country to a STOP, of course the system is going to capitalize on centering itself.
Ask the questions but stay on the AGENDA which is to END FEMICIDE in KENYA.
Defilement and molestation are not about horniness. These crimes are about power dynamics not a nut. They are about misusing power and authority by taking advantage of the powerless. Minors are in no position to consent as they lack agency and bodily autonomy.
Huku kwetu Embakasi East no one is celebrating.
There’s nothing to celebrate when our RO was disappeared 5 days ago and nobody seems bothered about it.

I just logged into twitter and found Taruri trending for the simple fact that she makes men uncomfortable.
Taruri is so unproblematic, such a gentle soul and yet men will not let her breathe for existing wholesomely.
I’m so pissed
It's been a while since I reminded some of you that I am not the one or the two.
I will not negotiate my (women's) right to life with you.
Go take it up with your ancestors, mine are busy supporting me in this fight
Try anything, try Jesus if you must, not me beloved.
According to Keke's mom, Darius started abusing Keke 1 year ago, when she was still pregnant.
She tried getting his brother Sarunas to intervene but he said 'he too used to be abusive.'
IPV is the leading cause of death for pregnant women.
To the gallows!!
Under her rule my great grandpa, grandpa and family lost land and were sent to the concentration camp called ‘gishagi.’
They labored and toiled for the crown and my grandpa was even dragged to the battlefield during WW2.
I am not sorry.
There's a concerning interconnectedness between corporal punishment, bullying, and femicide. The perpetuation of harmful practices in schools contributes to a larger societal issue, highlighting the need for comprehensive solutions addressing not just educational institutions but
That kid that died in Kilungu High school was admitted to that school 10 days before his death. Mzazi anasema kijana hajawai kuwa na health problems shule inasema aligonjeka akakufa. Familia imeenda kuangalia mwili wakapata dents na injuries kwa kichwa. This bullshit has to stop.
Your male parliamentarians will never speak on femicide thanks to your obsession with only holding women leaders accountable.
Alafu women's month utawaona wakikimbilia microphone kwa events za wanawake.
You can stop making scenarios in your heads about 'airítu a ciero ndune,' now.
It's not a common phenomenon. So take a break from acting like you understand Gíkúyú supernatural happenings. You truly haven't got the range for it.
Rest. And. Let.Ciru. Grieve.
Has anyone heard from the church, mosques , temples pertaining to the issue of femicide in Kenya?
Are women only important to these institutions when we have to open our purses for tithe, offerings, zaka, sadaka and what not?
They should be ashamed of themselves
#TotalShutDownKE
It's almost one year to the day I was raped and left for death. I survived the panic attacks, anxiety, suicide ideation, pain, hatred, constant anger, defeat, weakness and tears. The night terrors, forcing myself to eat and take PEP.
But I did it and today I thrive
Despite lower victimization rates, older populations face distinct vulnerabilities stemming from various levels and layers of discrimination. The often overlooked violence against older, vulnerable women definitely deserves more attention.

Yes he did and everyone had the audacity to be shocked at my reaction rather than being repulsed by his behaviour.
Nakwambia ni vile watu na hawkers walikua wamejaa kila mahali it would have ended with the 2 of us at Central.
You lot are evil.
I hope to make enough money to get the tools and resources necessary to protect queer and trans children plus women from their parents.
You hate your children so much your first thought is to harm them?
From sexism, misogyny, bigotry, queerphobia (3.1)
Every time I recount my rape or work around this topic I freeze.
Then it spirals to shame, guilt, rage, fear, pain, tears, anxiety and then depression.
I don't think people understand that a part of you dies when you're raped.
I'll never be the girl I was before.
Healing from rape, while doing advocacy work around rape, is a balance I thought I’d mastered. But for a while I’ve just been collecting triggers unknowingly…until now. Sometimes breaking, is my spirit asking me to hear it…
Straight people are in some serious unequally yoked relationships.
It really blows my mind that people would casually joke about hating their partners. Even worse is they said there's a phase.
Are you people okay?
Do you guys get panic attacks ata kidogo tu knowing apart from the quest for wealth, Nabii really doesn't know what he is doing and our education system is one of the main casualties about to waste a generation in a system even GoK does not know what to expect 1 year in advance
It's crazy how a woman will do the birthing, the care work, the protection, the being a present parent but giving the same child an identity/family name is what's embarrassing?
Grow up!
Okay, ENOUGH! Y'all kikuyus should not speak on naming kids when you are naming your men female names. Doesn't get any lower than a grown man with Wambui or Muthoni as a surname.
Whole time the joke is femicide, IPV, rape, slavery, emotional abuse, forced miscarriages, neglect, cruelty, battery, assault, hatred etc.
Yeah, I'm not gonna kikiii over my pain.
Faith Kasina, Maryanne, Lena Anyuolo, Habil Omar, Editar have all been arrested for taking a stand against police brutality and crimes against humanity.
We shall not be silenced

The contempt for Kikuyu single mothers is too much on these streets.
Small small jokes, suddenly Kikuyu single moms and their sons are in it.
And you people will swear up and down you don't hate women?
I know you're f*ck*ng lying
People who pit the need for free condoms against the need for menstrual products ignore the fact that they are both gender rights issues. Especially in a country where women are still disproportionately affected by HIV. We must stop looking at structural issues in binaries.
Senator Gloria Orwoba's appeared with a stained trouser in Parliament saying that she was in her periods and that was a 'natural accident'. This is how brave our leaders must be. There's no reason as to why governments give out free condoms and not pads.
I don't care how angry you are as a woman, do not normalize assault in the name of getting even.
Leave that man, grieve the relationship, cry like a baby, go to therapy, heal and move on.
What are feminists in Kenya doing about femicide??
When we've been advocating for it to be declared a national emergency for ages, even convened a march to end femicide in 2019.
Promises were made by
@Kenyajudiciary
@parliamentkenya
and the office of the President. And yet.
If it's so easy to get donor funding why don't y'all just get in the game?
Seriously, go ahead and fake a beating baaaas if you think violence is so cute.
Leave
@NjeriWaMigwi
alone, she's not standing between you and your donor funding.
This is the language that encourages male sexual aggression and supports violence against women.
We clocked your game from the first line. You are an apologist, a victim blamer and a terrible person to be running a foundation for girls.
@courtroom802
While I don't support this and condemn it, I think the moment this man told you his intentions, you needed to turn down his offer for a drink. If you finally said yes to go on a drinking spree with him, the NO immediately turned into a YES for him.
Those from privileged backgrounds often view protests as a thrilling adventure, a mere game to experience an adrenaline rush. While we are fighting for survival, both literally and symbolically.
One thing the Government knows is that kenyans are chill..Kazi ni kelele Twitter alafu you accept…Have you seen the way the French protest hata cost of living ikipanda na 5 bob…they will go after you..your parents & children..anyways form iko wapi leo.
Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood.
