@no_earthquake
It's a struggle as a Brazilian living in France because I hate the Portuguese for valid reasons but if I say it out loud I sound classist as hell
@AveryOfBirds
And honestly it's kind of true?? Just 5 books of pointing out how fucked up the political system is and then they do nothing to change it
@crypticWhovian
Same...tension in these 3 specials works really well because since you know both characters are no longer in the show by the end of it feels like anything can happen
@sapphyreblayze
They have a whole conversation about the other spouses they've had in The Husbands of River Song ( episode in which River is married to two whole other men and one diamond )
@Abzorbaloffsbf
That's what makes the concept of bi-generation okay for me : it's still the same person and not just two completely separate guys running around
@SandlerEdward
@miri_yam_
No ? Like there was nazi presence outside of Europe ( notably North Africa in French posessions ) but Palestine was under British rule not German, there was no German presence, so there couldn't be foreign soldiers serving under SS command
@1820Neko
@no_earthquake
I mean yeah but also cause nearly every Portuguese person I have met in France has been extremely disdainful the moment they learn I'm Brazilian
@sapphyreblayze
That's the most baffling part about this discourse like wdym she was replaced ?? Wdym this spoils the show ?? That is literally the premise of doctor who
@hamishsteele
Nah I think it made sense for her to be a bit out of her depth, could totally see her do something like that in a future episode but for her first encounter it made sense to show her hesitate and not really know how to act
@thinkiamsad
Tbh feel like that's what a lot of video essays are these days, James Somerton or not. Just people saying loosely related stuff and never coming to a conclusion or presenting a central point
@brazenburrito
@phuzzykins
I feel like a new version of the show bringing it in a different direction and having a different take on the story is actually a good thing though ? You might not personally like that interpretation, but it's not inherently bad just because it's a different interpretation
@blufruity
My theory is he just dies and doesn't regenerate , since his regeneration already happened . Or like he gets completely burned by regeneration energy and bam no more 14
@MarkVanHook3
@PaulRidd
Maybe leave litteral kids and young adults alone? I mean I get the hypothetical point or whatever but you guys have to stop judging every thing gen z do as if they were grown-ass adults and not confused 20yolds
@autisticpond
I feel like it's just dumb to read time lord sexuality with human boxes like these are people who constantly change body, gender etc why would heteronormativity be a thing for them
@Scuttlecliff
The criticism around her always has to be so violent too.... like they can't just say they don't like the character it's always " she sucks and she's the worst thing that ever happened to the show"
THANK YOU FOR ASKING i have this theory that matt was always a little salty abt the elevenriver romance and there are any number of reasons why that could have been ranging from valid (writing was weird) to less valid and i think when he got jenna as a companion he saw the
@sophieinthesky_
Yeah exactly !!! It makes perfect sense that the Doctor doesn't get it , but I don't think 13 would have either ! Same thing for s4 Donna who didn't have a fulfilling life to go back to . This could have worked so much better if they'd just changed the dialogue a bit
@SandlerEdward
@miri_yam_
That is one guy ,not a number of people, and he wasn't an SS volunteer ( he did help recruit Bosnian SS volunteers, but they were Bosnian, not Palestinian)
@JeremiahDJohns
Well this kinda makes sense though because most Palestinians are / are becoming disabled because of malnutrition and ,yk, all the bombing
girls when they realise that gothic and horror studies is very much an avenue you are allowed to go into and they will be trying to do this for their masters
@FrostyMacWHO
Yeah I just interpreted it as hom being shocked he said that kind of thing now... idk it just never occurred to me that the Doctor would think of himself as het ( I mean it makes sense with what Donna said it just genuinely did not occur to me )
What are five topics you can talk about for 30 minutes with zero prep ?
- twin peaks : fire walk with me
- invisible man / John Donne
- the aesthetic appeal of Ethel Cain / Olivia Rodrigo
- the pros and cons of online dating
- doctor who
what are five topics you can talk about for 30 minutes with zero prep??
-feminine rage in female directed horror films
-the evolution of british culture paralleled in classic who
-survivor game theory
-queerness in ancient art
-kate bush
So let me get this straight. Doctor Who had a silly little two parter about aliens wearing people suits invading Earth while farting nonstop, and then a couple episodes later they follow that plot line up with a somber reflection on each character’s inner humanity and cruelty???
when you start playing an instrument a thing happens to you where you get infected with the compulsive need to show everyone your shitty, shitty skills
How likely do you reckon it is that the girl on tinder with " feminist extremist" and a Harry Potter reference in bio has some questionable opinions about trans people
@stonesofblood
Yeah the thing is I could totally see them saying he wouldn't know to let it go because the Doctor has historically had a hard time letting go of things. But it has nothing to do with being male-presenting
