Goodness. Another of these innumerate “data journalists” running a crude extrapolation which even a 9th grader can conjure up - why risk your professional credibility by pretending to offer a fancy mathematical model for a complex topic requiring a ton of domain knowledge?

I looked at the current rate of growth of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India and estimates by others. In most scenarios it is looking like India will hit 1 mn *confirmed* cases in May - and the fatality rate is broadly over 3%
