The word iconoclast has, therefore, come to be figuratively applied to anyone who will challenge cherished beliefs and venerated institutions on the grounds that they’re errant or pernicious.
@evantesseract
My husband finds that a lot of the stuff in this thread resonates; but they’d particularly like to mention that providing food and cooking it, particularly on a barbecue, feels like a very positive masculine experience to them.

That’s a bit like the time I was picking up my husband’s testosterone and my estradiol at the pharmacy and the pharmacist kept insisting the testosterone was for me … 😁

I’m hearing a number of stories about educational establishments that have basically taken away the power for teaching staff to do that in this kind of context.

It *almost* does, there are a few research hospitals doing early stage trial operations with cis recipients; some of which have led to successful pregnancies.
There may never be enough capacity for it to be done for trans recipients though (with the usual caveat of the very rich)

Any relationship I’m in is a queer relationship; even if the other person is an allocishet man!
Because I’m queer (and I’m proud of it).

The principle gets is that women aren't supposed to have sexual thoughts; so in non-trans women it's a bit transgressive but in trans women it demonstrates that they were never women all along.
Upon finding out that I am on an Official Government List of Trans People every one of my Jewish friends, without fail, went "If something happens, you can hide here. I'm not joking. You can hide here. Understand?"
Which. The implications of that say more than I ever could.
It’s often said that in Computer Science we stand on each other’s feet; but sometimes something happens to remind us of the Giants whose shoulders are many layers beneath us.

My husband (who is also non-binary) tells of how delighted a cis coworker was at the idea that they could just use ungendered pronouns; and uses they/them to this day.

I weep that there can be no path to respectability for the genderdiverse and non-binarians for we have no appropriately gendered and modest clothing.

Once you’re past the first petabyte the Cloud is nearly never cheaper. One big counter example there would be if you have very seasonal usage patterns and, for instance, need four times as many servers for Black Friday.

In many ways I am ‘woman-lite’; but if I see those phrases it’s still a big red sign for me that generally indicates they see non-binary people as mistaken girls who are opposed to being seen as women.
@confusedophan
Quite late in childhood but I spent an hour at one point arguing with an AFAB friend “why would anyone want to be a man?” “why would they want to be a woman?”
We’ve both transitioned.
@vvictorman_uel
Having talked to some cis m-spec lesb*ans I think this isn’t because transfems are uniquely special in having that kind of identity but because survivorship bias means we’re already the people who aren’t as strongly influenced by group pressures about what’s OK in our identity.
@SnowyBreak
@ayyy_vuh
I can run into an entire paragraph of identity words describing my gender and sexuality; and it’s not helpful. Each of them maybe helpful to me in the right context; but really none of it is very valuable to anyone else unless they’re trying to shit on me.

I think you mean the British managementforce; most workers understand that if they were clocked in for fewer hours they’d be a lot more productive in the remaining ones.

Regexps aren’t Turing complete. In particular you can’t do infinite recursion with them so for any regexp you write I can trivially make a piece of HTML that it doesn’t work on.

Particularly the cabling. Also make sure to change every WiFi password when you replace the APs to ensure that any lurking devices can’t reconnect.

SJ: You're not saying that Tavi is a process which involves no support?
Dr P: I know from my other Pts that it involves very little support, Pt A got very little support from Tavi and no reply from Prof B. Tavi do a 60min appt follow up once every 18 months,

You don’t have to experience dysphoria to realise you’re trans.
I only actually noticed my dysphoria after I started transitioning; but gender euphoria was a big thing for me in early days.

Yes, it does. You aren’t allowed to discriminate by saying that trans boys aren’t allowed to use the same facilities as cis boys (or trans girls as cis girls).

I have a relative who’s intolerant (not quite so bad to be allergic) to fructose.
People just don’t understand it; they’ll say things like “well, this doesn’t have gluten in it, is that OK?”

When you say that waiting lists are up to 6 years; what you mean is that 6 years ago the waiting lists were 6 years.
Someone referred now might expect more than 2 decades.
(In practice we’ll be genocided or there’ll be systemic change before that happens)

I was born in '77 and given section 28 my only exposure to queerness were schoolground insults and news about HIV.
My first positive representation would have been friends at university in the late 1990s.
