the term "bucket list" comes from a forgettable 2007 movie of the same name starring jack nicolson and morgan freeman. "glassing" comes from the second mission of Halo 3 in which the Prophet of Truth says "your world will be turned to glass".
@C_hoffmanni
the guys with finasteride beards, oakleys, and tight shirts will never look as cool and photogenic as a lanky mac-v sog operator, a 5'2" italian-american tunnel rat, and a delta force operator doing security detail
@JoanJSchmidt
millions of irish have died due to british occupation, and palestinians show continued solidarity in return to the irish whenever the irish stick their neck out in crucial EU decisions for palestine

thinking about the Poles who still had Warsaw Pact era stuff in their inventory that were just barely compatible with NATO standardization.

red letter media would make fun of "epic nerd" lootcrate podcasters when they were less common, and the wave of younger millennial nerd podcasters would not stop and they were living up to the caricature that red letter media made of them
@goatloafer
Le Sapeurs are very interesting because there's "rival" branches. lively, or brooding, or just classic, there's a group you hang around because you are attracted to the particular style.
@GunnerDobbins
i love that Bombadil is the manifestation of "purity" in the story and it makes it funny that he doesn't care, so it just means there's effectively no pure "good" in the world. he is only uncorruptable via extreme apathy.
@kayabunni
he literally hates Rei fans because they liked her for her timidness and not because she stopped being that and grew as her own person rather than a project by gendo ikari.

1.) rhodieboos are very annoying boomers that destroyed the FAL market or they're 15 year-old larpers
2.) these guys are shills for Leviathan Group
3.) shit memes
4.) these guys "love rhodesian history" but never get into the specifics of rhodesia for a reason
@dasuperbackup
maybe that was a very offputting thing in the first place and no one knows "left twitter lore" because i sure as hell don't recall a necrophilia brigade

they're both talking about attainability and referring to steroid use in hollywood. pattinson clarified that he'd workout but he wasn't gonna get on bane venom shit. mescal said he's gonna do whatever feels like fits the character, he could get heavier for all we know.

introduced half a century ago, the F-15 is still the undisputed best fighter jet to this day, and boeing has the capability of perpetually upgrading it and extend its service life to over a century. it dominated in the gulf war against MIGs. 104 air-to-air kills, 0 shot down.
@meatrub1290
@slytherinus
not really. pattinson worked out for an attainably wide shoulders and thicker legs, instead of super juiced dwayne "the rock" johnson physique.
i like reading about WW1 dogfights because these guys had, justifiably, very high egos. everyone from children reading the paper, to old princes paid close attention. air combat was "aristocratic", like a sport between gentleman, all from different backgrounds.
Ww1 fighter pilots are easily the most understandable type of military psycho. They were fighting wars with muskets last week and now you want me to shoot guys out of the sky. I would become the joker too.

pretty sure clubs, maces, and axes were effective against the spaniards because blunt and broad weapons like that were historically used to break armor, especially against the spanish, who were lightly armored due to how hot it is in south america
