They are not going to leave the school. My child is in a private school and the head has just written to discuss how they can help (passing on only half or absorbing the total). Private school is a choice, state school is a right.

My daughter is in a private school and all her friends’ parents won’t be voting Labour (to be frank they never did anyway); she says I shouldn’t vote Labour either; that’s not going to happen, I’d rather pay VAT on the school fees twice than having Tories even for another month.

It was obvious to everyone else that the 2 objectives could not be achieved simultaneously: eradicating Hamas is impossible cos Hamas is an idea. I feel sorry for the hostages, if a single one of them was a son/daughter of a government official they’d have negotiated by now.

Private education is a privilege not a right, it’s a right if there’s no state education. Private tutors charge VAT for the lessons. Private schools are businesses and all businesses pay VAT. The VAT will hurt me too but it’s for the greater good.

They way I see it is that we all have to make sacrifices, the VAT will add £2000/term or £6k per year, but it is a choice I made when she started and now she’s in Year 12. It’s a “small” price to pay if it gets the Tories out, “greater good “ and all that.

Also people are focusing on the actual fees when most of the kids in private schools (including mine) have private tutors for chem/bio, physics, maths etc which range from £40 to £65/hour. Cutting private tuition/music lessons will make up the VAT.

Braverman is corrupt and it will come out. The companies involved (détention, removal, etc) are all private (even though the actual piece of paper is signed by the Home Office). A country whose citizens seek asylum in the UK can’t be deemed safe.
