@TGT_OAR @MilaLovesJoe @clarasophiadaly That's literally what "deferred action" means. It means they're deferring deporting people that are otherwise deportable. It's just an act of prosecutorial discretion.

Under executive regulations - with the thinnest of statutory basis - when there's a decision not to deport, the person can apply for work authorization (ie, a social security number). That can be revoked, though, and the person deported.
