“The Echthroi have Xed.”
“What?”
“Annihilated. Negated. Extinguished. Xed.”
“…The Echthroi are those who hate, those who would keep you from being Named, who would un-Name you. It is the nature of love to create. It is the nature of hate to destroy.”

i am skeptical that any of the bad faith bros crying “racist” have ever had thoughts or prayers about their colleagues’ visa status before now 😂
@IDoTheThinking
curious where the “corner store” folks are from? strictly sf, or? i grew up in alameda and it was also “liquor store” but none of them were on corners so 🤷🏻♀️
friends, please stop sharing videos from sh*un k*ng. i'm tired of explaining why i will not consume his content. there are countless other sources of media and voices to amplify right now. look it up. listen to black women. please don't be fucking lazy.

software engineers don't realize that 95% of production outages come from code.
twitter has eliminated code for almost 3 weeks now and is running on zero-point energy from the code-free mirror universe, which explains why our universe is imploding

I have received
another shipment
of the books
that I will say
I own and
plan
to read
Forgive me
they were enticing
so many words
and so many ideas
it tickles me so that i added the
@YESPLZdotCOFFEE
logo to my work slack as part of tendency to add emoji relevant to our coffee channel but people are using it across the company to indicate desire for things in general

@dieworkwear
thank you so much for this thread. a childhood memory of my late father is his signature sport coat: tweed with an action back. i think it was from cable car clothiers. he was definitely a older generation of san franciscan!
i meet so many damned fine people in bars.
which is why i’m currently staying home and wearing a mask whenever i go out. so that someday i can do that again.
dearest
@YESPLZdotCOFFEE
: you really nailed it on the 072 triple-colombia blend, or as i have nicknamed it, dreamcicle. satisfying acidity for weirdos like me, comforting creamy dreaminess to round it out. well done, friends.
i was just commenting to someone today about how this is going to be much worse than the rolling blackouts of the 2000s, which were a symptom of the same problem.
describing
@jamesblake
as "a kind of Barry White for Burial fans" had me rolling in both incongruous absurdity and self-conscious recognition. kudos,

i don’t understand how picard can have such an incredible wealth of acting, pedigree, character history, and story universe, yet have such abysmal writing
i figured out The Case of My Missing Bag of Coffee:
apparently
@YESPLZdotCOFFEE
is so delicious that someone in the office is brewing daily with my beans. sharing is caring i suppose.
Last month, UPMC, the 3rd-largest insurer & largest hospital network in PA, dropped 1,200 pharmacies from its prescription drug plan, then offered service through its new pharmacy benefit manager—at a much higher cost.
@lukewgoldstein
has the story:
@IDoTheThinking
wow. this is really gross. putting the onus of reducing drunk driving on perpetuating an underpaid, exploited workforce is.... something.
my coworker was subjected to me preaching the gospel of
@YESPLZdotCOFFEE
as he made the mistake of asking me why i make a pourover every day when there's free coffee
a nice idea i got from reading various things on the twitter dot com: buy yourself the most luxurious hand cream you can afford right now. you deserve it after all of the exemplary hand washing, after all.
it is amusing that the typical bros who can’t conceive any nuance in exploitation are calling those who note the precariousness of visa status “racist” like the squalling bad faith vultures they are

i would love a wing dedicated to the collaboration and contributions between different civil rights movements, like the asian american and black power movements
and in another wing, a sofa, covered in vinyl
i just wanted to give a shout out to the worst t-shirt i saw on a dude last week. it said:
"be fearless.
be an engineer."
if you're an engineer, and you're not terrified for your users, you're doing it wrong.
@kate_the_purple
same same same same same!!!!
people have started poking at me about my mask wearing recently. i’m like… cold and flu free life has been pretty grand.
why is everyone who declares they are bailing from this sinking ship white
and y’all literally can’t @ me or you’ve proven you’re still reading this hell site
everyone: queued or clamoring at the sound of their approaching train
me, used to 20 minute headways: sauntering lackadaisically and probably missing this train because another one is right behind it

@hondanhon
it was always “do what doesn’t contradict your core principles” for me moreso than “do what you love.” and i still abide by that after my gov stint.
+1 to others’ comments about privilege
Oakland Police Chief Manheimer says Oakland has been "put on notice" by the sheriff and U.S. Marshals that if the city bans tear gas, they won't provide aid by sending officers during protests and civil unrest.

just returned from a country that up until 12/1 required OUTDOOR masking. indoor and transit mask compliance almost 100% for locals. talked with lots of strangers, encountered a lot of warmth, and everyone emoted just fine.
maybe OP is the problem.
@IanColdwater
feeling this very hard as someone who lives in a glorified studio in the bay area
and as someone who was born and raised and has family here, i've got nowhere less expensive to "go back home to"
twitterverse, what's your brand of disaster hoarding?
mine is not having to hoard anything because i realize i spent the last year buying every variety of dried heirloom beans i could get my hands on since they looked nice in glass jars on my shelf.
