The cycling data is based on Sport England’s estimation of the number of people who have used a bike for *leisure or travel* twice in the last 28 days, multiplied by the percentage of the population that is trans.
Policy Exchange took *the number of people in the UK who own a bicycle* multiplied it by *the proportion of people in the UK who are trans* and declared it an estimate of the number of trans people taking part in competitive cycling.

It's exciting to see the census findings indicate that, as previously estimated, at least 0.5% of people in England and Wales are trans.

With respect, that is simply not true. HS2 is designed to relieve capacity at key stations such as Euston, Birmingham New Street, Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly.
These stations are key bottlenecks for Cross Country and Trans Pennine Express services.

- Sarah Everard was arrested in a public place. "Single sex" spaces had nothing to do with this case.
- Trans women have overwhelmingly condemned the murder, the Met for exmploying and protecting the murderer, and the misogynistic society that enabled it.
None of this even makes any sense!!! These women didn't die because there weren't "safe spaces" for them. These views and demands actively put trans women in literal danger of the exact type of violence she's supposedly condemning

- and “replaced” it with the vague ambitions of Network North.
We must not fall for this.
(I didn’t have space for this but also seems striking that there’s nothing re Castlefield corridor in the plan or anything devoted to bottleneck relief around Leeds. Both affect massively affect the whole of the north. Capacity, again.)

It’s hard to describe to onlookers why trans people are, at the same time, concerned about GC attacks on GICs and their poor performance.
Everything that has happened can be traced back to backwards views of gender stereotypes, a lack of reform, and jealous clinging to power.
I hope this poor rating for GIDS from the CQC will be a wake-up call for NHS England. Not just about waiting lists - trans youth and parents are subject to poorly-educated clinicians, pathologisation, gender stereotypes. Time to break up the monopoly.
