Corporations often use private sector agreements to stave off regulation. The John Deere memo appears to be no different. It explicitly bars the Farm Bureau from supporting state legislation on right to repair. That’s not gonna fly with the R2R movement

Even Bard admits Google has a data advantage over AI competitors, counter to Google’s claims in the trial: -scrapes data from websites without attribution -punishes those websites if they block scraping by delisting them in search results -integrates data from Gmail, Maps

Throughout its antitrust trial, Google has claimed that AI represents a "paradigm shift" for the search engine market, and a threat to its business. We asked Google's chatbot, Bard, about the company's plans for AI. Bard is not on the same page.

Concentration creep continues to hit the airline industry. Alaska proposed a merger with Hawaiian airlines the same week as DOJ concluded its case to block JetBlue-Spirit deal. Antitrust groups are calling on DOJ to stop yet another airline roll up.

DoD is weighing a more expensive Microsoft E5 upgrade for security protections despite the company’s “cascade of failures” to prevent rampant cyberattacks on govn. This no-bid contract is the latest example of MSFT’s vendor lock-in strategy:

A fun sidelight I'm sure many journalists can speak to is the flotilla of emails they're getting from corporate attorneys offering to helpfully "explain" noncompete agreements
