There is a concept known as “thin places”, where it is said that the veil between this world and the next is thin. You can sense the numinous around you, even if you cannot describe it.
Where have you been that felt ‘thin’?
my (straight) friend is visiting tonight from jersey and every time i see him im reminded about how fortunate i am to have befriended a guy who has always, since we were 16, appreciated and respected me for who I am, when others didn’t :,)

As of 10:40 am ET, All services operating in the Newark (NWK) area may experience lengthy delays due to debris blocking the tracks. Updates to follow as more information becomes available.
A city of working class citizens historically choked by the minority of people from the suburbs who actively choose to drive their private vehicles right into the heart of our city and delay our buses, clog our streets, and increase pollution will be no longer
It's a historic day: Today, the MTA Board voted to approve the toll rates for the nation's first congestion pricing program. This program will reduce traffic in Manhattan's central business district, reduce pollution, and provide critical funding for transit improvements.
i don’t think gays in manhattan between the battery and 59th street realize the amount of power they can wield today by simply calling their rep and potentially changing new york city for the better forever
i’m absolutely losing my mind right now this is INSANE we are WEEKS away from a decade of planning and pushing for this and it’s gonna be flushed right down the drain out of nonsensical and unrealistic fears of weakening political strength in albany
Hanging the MTA out to dry while denying it access to $50 billion for shovel ready capital work will absolutely crush NYC and the surrounding region more than the toll would. Idiotic policy and politics.
kamala should do an FDR style fireside chat in the kitchen like i think it would be crazy while we’re learning about the state of our infrastructure or economy we’re learning what seasonings she’s using for that thanksgiving turkey
you see how I don’t drive into manhattan? very mindful. very demure. I don’t cause a commotion by being a pedestrian death trap and slow down city buses; I take the train, very cutesy
i don’t even know what to say anymore. there seems to be no sense of urgency from the feds about this insane situation happening on the corridor. if this line collapses i don’t think people understand the immense financial, social, and political fires that would ignite.
HMMMM!!! ISNT THAT FUNNY!!! The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge the ONE land connection from staten island to the rest of new york city has DEFERRED MAINTENANCE FROM LACK OF CONGESTION PRICING!!!
between gym glow up controversies, sizes of already short shorts, the inability to make friends in platonic ways, gas pump pumping, and josh schlossberg, are there any other things before pride we need to get out of our system?
I don’t get how north jersey and south jersey people can just casually tell central jersey people that central jersey doesn’t exist like excuse me you live where you live and I don’t say a WORD
staten islanders actively complaining about the $15 fee into the city when they have the most extensive express bus network in the 5 boros with access to HOV lanes in both Jersey & Brooklyn
oh and buying a 7-day express bus plus metrocard makes a round trip each weekday $12.80
Let me correct this lopsided story for you
“Bus cameras working properly. DC drivers total over $15 million in fines for illegal parking in bus-only lanes.”
Then you can frost that cake with:
“We spoke to the thousands of bus riders who are THRILLED with the enforcement.”
Have you been hit with a $100 bus-camera ticket in D.C. recently? More than 145,000 citations issued over the last 9 months.. totaling nearly $15 million in fines.
Maryland drivers lead the way, then DC, VA, and all over.
Here's what some drivers we spoke with had to say:

to the transit nerds that follow me i’m sorry in advance for some of the risqué content I may post
to the other gays im not as sorry for the transit content I will post
while I am so grateful for all the new transit and planner activists that have followed me recently this is a subtle reminder this is still a gay man’s personal account during pride month with an NSFW warning in bio. viewer discretion is advised.
people are really negative pricks. I posted a tiktok about the commute to my bfs in boston and I get
“this is too much for love”
“man get a new bf”
“northeast corridor couple got an immediate eye roll from me”
some of you need to be loved or kick bricks or both
Andy Beshear on Morning Joe sounds like he's auditioning for Harris' VP spot as he draws a contrast to Vance, and says he would "listen" to a VP offer:
