It’s disappointing to see that we have a population who can’t seem to understand that RW turned around a collapsed economy in 2 years! You don’t have to like the guy, vote him in for your own future, your families future. He has already shown us what he can do!!
For all the people complaining that they aren’t happy about the people around him - time to stop. If YOU vote for RW (an independent candidate), you’re in charge. YOU can decide who will be in the parliament, YOU can choose the team for him at the general election.
If you’re still undecided on who to vote for, watch Ranil’s speech yesterday at the Professional’s Forum. He articulates as to how crucial this election is for us as a country.
Waking up to some sad news.
RW was right, is right, on so many things, and it’s been an honour to defend him. History will reflect that.
I’m not going to gloss over the JVP now, as I haven’t in the past. My principles remain. The people have made a terrible mistake.
Ranil Wickremesinghe isn’t the kind of president who’ll drive a bus, play cricket with you, or deliver a speech in the rain. He won’t accept your donations or free press in exchange for promises of becoming your puppet. Instead, he will impose taxes and make tax evasion
@FernandoShalana
Very well said.
- We just paved the way for a NR presidency in the near future.
- The inexperience of AKD and team is likely to cost us heavily no matter how noble they claim to be.

As a normal citizen with no political affiliations (family or otherwise), we're voting based on the results the president has put forwards. RW has shown capability, he has put forward a plan that is WORKING unlike the other clowns who claim they "can".
@roelraymond
Great, we should have just waited for Sajith’s list of demands to be satisfied.. because why not.. we were only just bankrupt. No biggie 🤷🏾♀️
@shehal
More like how RW was the only leader who had the balls to take on a sinking ship? Bring stability in a matter of two years?? There was no “sneaking” he was constitutionally appointed as premier when our so called “Dream Teams” refused to take responsibility.
@duhcoolies
RW’s words “I couldn’t have done it without my team, a hastily put together team”. Even the best performing teams need leadership otherwise they will fail. Sadly this is a concept that most are struggling with. 🙄
Honestly, this has historically been our biggest problem. We’ve always voted based on populist views or on thoughtless whims of “why not try this out” 🤷🏾♀️ Do your research people!! Read the policies!! THINK before you vote!
People ask me, "Who else should we vote for?" when I tell them not to support the JVP/NPP, as if these are the only options left. Let’s get real: Sri Lankans aren’t voting with their heads—they’re voting with fear, resentment, and blind rage. In 2019, people didn’t choose a
@DiasSanchitha
Well let’s see, amongst the many flaws, we had Rajapaksha and Co treating our reserves like their personal bank account. Covid hit, and Gota/Cabral and team had zero domain knowledge to manage the economy during a crisis.
@Jamz5251
RW - Always vote for Educated leaders. We’re in this position because time and time again people have been voting for populist leaders who promote racism/nationalism.
@EnHui
The disparity exists because the politicians want it that way. The key characteristic here is education. Most of that voter base will vote based on lies/populist views/religion/race instead of facts and information.
The weirdest effect instagram has had on culture is that it has created this genre of friends you keep in touch with not by talking to them but by entertaining them. You don’t exchange ideas, you exchange things to laugh at together. You’re not really friends, but your images are

As the nice gentleman at the forum mentioned, do you fire the experienced doctor who showed results or bring in new doctors to treat an ICU patient? Lest we forget SL is still very much in the ICU.
Using MidJourney feels surreal, like magic at first, but after a while, it’s like a word puzzle that drives you nuts because these pictures are never perfect!!
@Dailymirror_SL
For those of you who didn’t bother to read it this is what was said amongst other things: “elder brother of Prabakaran have urged Tamil people not to be deceived by fraudsters belonging to Tamil diaspora who are minting money by selling the ‘brand name’ Velupillai Prabhakaran”
@hphemantha
@Jamz5251
@anuradisanayake
And yet again another bad choice from our people. NPP will destroy the remaining shreds of democracy and economic activity we have left. Save this post :)
@Dailymirror_SL
Honestly
@Dailymirror_SL
this is just false reporting!! You’ve painted a completely different story from what has been actually said. How is this responsible reporting??
@WarlordDilley
Agreed! This was a great interview and it’s such an eye opener especially because mass media fed people a completely different narrative over the last couple of years. Like Chamath said, people should be able to think for themselves.
@MGaneshathasan
Agreed, we actually need to continue educating and reminding people why the crisis happened and holding SLPP/Rajapaksa clan accountable. People have already started forgetting, hence they’ve been able to start showing their faces and change the narrative.
@DavidSacks
Democrats are contradicting their own values of “let’s spread love, peace and inclusivity”. Trying to stop Russia with force is horrible foreign policy.
