Lots of people asking for how I sideboard with the 65/12 deck. This is a loosely written guide for the top 8 decks on Goldfish. I dont normally write sideboard plans and I try to stay very fluid when boarding. I would not follow this to the letter.

Won my hometown RCQ playing MonoG with no silly cards. Polukranos is great. Sideboard is perfect. 80% to register this at Dallas with no changes. Play the good cards, not the silly cards. @BobbyFortanely is the best monoG resource. List in ALT. Bonus little champion in pics.

@Aspiringspike There was a small Limited PPTQ I played a while back. 16 or less players, with still cut to Top 8 because it was a Draft. I went Lose R1, Bye R2, Win R3, Lose R4. 8th seed into the Top 8. 1st Seed had an emergency and had to leave. Lose in Top 4 LMAO.

Elliot is just following the policy and is not at fault how insane this sounds. That being said, @wizards_magic needs to change alot of judge policy. Seen issues like this crop up almost weekly since the RC circuit has begun.

RC was rough but we got Top 16 the 5k casting Chord. Only loss was the Mirror. Scooped in Top 16 for the 💵 cause I already have an invite. Company is not a Pioneer playable card. Sad I got baited into playing Company last minute in the RC. Knight is cracked.

This allows us to have an ideal 65 maindeck with a higher % of payoffs without cutting 1-of creatures, and can shift to a more focused 62 postboard. DISCLAIMER: I know this breaks conventions, and is probably bad. I am not looking for public input. Just putting the data out.

DISCLAIMER: I know this is probably bad. Problem: We were losing because we weren't putting Yawg in play enough. Obstacle: We have to cut good 1-ofs to add more Evolution. Solution: Go up maindeck cards in order to fit Evolutions without giving up 1-of creatur slots.

In 48 hours I leave for San Diego. I don't want to overhype myself, but I'm pretty sure I've never been more comfortable going into a large event. I really want to go back to the Pro Tour and this feels like one of my best opportunities to get it done.

@evan_mtg While maybe useful when deciding on a deck, once you're locked into a deck it is virtually useless to think about if a matchup is good/bad. All that matters now is your plan for each matchup and making sure that is good. Focusing on good/bad matchups is useless at this point.

Thought about attending HBMO but decided to skip. Would play something close to this. Need to carve out some time to write about Insidious Roots in the Yawg Primer, it is very fun and cool. Bowmasters is still kinda meh

In regards to the lifepad and weird concession topic, I use an executive sized Rocketbook, which is an inexpensive erasable notebook that allows you to save the documents before you wipe them. This can give you a more permanent record while still using a reusable writing tool.

Had an RCQ win&in g3 vs murk. Opp has lethal flyers. I do a cool thing with bowmaster triggers and yawg to kill a big murk and a shredder while I am low on life. 5ish minute turn, it took a while. I win turn after and judge asks why I didn't ping opp with bowmaster. He was at 2.

@masoneclark Yes and you are allowed to use DFC Helper cards if you want. Technically if you use the Basic Lands from Jurassic World, you can have DFC Helper basics and draw whatever on them (within reason).

Cast Ballista=0, dies and trigger artist. Boseiju the Realm to get Cauldron back. Activate Cauldron on Ballista, counter on Wolf. Wolf pings itself alot. If they cast Solitude at any point, Chord for yawgmoth. Sacrifice Wolf twice on 0/2 archeologist then sac artist for lethal.

Despite a trainwreck day 2 I am 99.9% sure I am now Qed for my second ever Pro Tour at 50th place due to a pass down invite. Need to confirm with @wizards_magic to make 100% sure. Goal for first year of RCs was to get an invite while they went to Top 48. Next is a PT reQ. LFG.

I've had a brutally cold run since my SCG Dallas finish. Trying to get better at separating my results from my gameplay (which I've been mostly happy with), but this run is destroying me. I'd take a small break if not for the Dallas RC being in driving distance for me.

Feeling way better about Modern at the PT now than I was when I first qualified. Been knocking off the rust and I'm liking my spot in the metagame. The One Ring is super busted and even though it's probably dumb, I am kinda happy to finally experience a 'hogaak' era first hand.

@ToaMichael Voted $10 without thinking but should have voted $20. Kit is around $50-$150 depending on if they have Pin set or not. Judge for the day is probably 150-250. $320 ($20x16) from entries should cover all of these costs for an average store.

Played a single trial at @LaughingMtg Portland and won a bye with 65/12 Yawgmoth. Now it's gumbo time at the Airbnb. Starting 1-0 tomorrow.

2nd Problem this solves is that 20 lands (33%) was too little and 21 (35%) was too much. 22/65 and 21/62 are both 33.8%, which is close to the range we were trying to hit. Playing three less sideboard cards allows us to cut an extra two spells and one land to maintain our ratio.

Counterfeit cards are cards that look like real Magic cards. Making these are theft. You can disagree with that but it really just informs how you feel about theft more than anything. I think creating things has value and I don’t like people stealing them. Even from WOTC.

Been trying to study poker for a while now and alot of stuff has finally started to click. Played an online $6 entry tournament with a $3000 prize pool and 300+ entrants. Got to the final table and ended at 3rd for $300. Really nice to finally see some progress for me.

Maybe I'm biased because I like Chord alot, but imo Pioneer is healthier now than both one month ago and three months ago. Lots of complaining about draws though. I'd like to see the stats on which decks were drawing. I think the primary issue is slow play being unenforced.

Heck yea Bowmasters not playable in 2024 you heard it here.
Been playing a ton of Yawg -bowmaster lately and it has been GREAT. 13-2 and up almost 150 in credit at my locals over the last few weeks. Cutting bow's really helped the 🦏 matchup and with less 💍's running around i havent missed them. @fireshoes for visibility
