@iamcoriarnold How many of these are causes of being a millionaire and how many of them are effects? All those sources of income, for example, make the most sense after one has already made some money, otherwise at small scale it's often a better idea to invest in one's own skills.

@d_feldman Imagine blindly pasting a question into ChatGPT without reading the text input at all! I feel like that would require being pretty inattentive. Then again, maybe the avocado white text part seems just plausible enough that one would not think to double-take.

@DefenderOfBasic I've been millitantly blocking all ads for years now but sometimes, once in a while, want to see what ads are these days. I've searched for a website with just ads only, but did not find one. This reminds me, I should probably just create that.

@PstafarianPrice There is an alternative: Phones and apps that simply do not do any complex post-processing and leave the image noisy. These were taken on two different phones (Librem 5 in Raw, OnePlus One in jpeg) and both are simply noisy instead of AI-like.

@BigDickBarclay @uncledoomer Creates COยฒ emissions, resulting in increased climate change; and more importantly, it makes you dependent on the oil companies instead of being able to charge from any random source of electricity (e.g, solar panels). Electric allows regenerative breaking too, which I love.

@SmoothDunk I feel like this comic was written to portray the people in the boat as wrong, butโฆ it can totally be interpreted the other way too: If stonehenge ends up (via hyperbole) underwater, then clearly that was not a very effective method of climate advocacy.

@Pidud_ Thatโฆ makes so much more sense now. I always wondered how people were able to make so much money in 3D to afford these 3D asset packs. It makes so much more sense if the answer is "They don't"! Maybe I should just make 3D assets.

@senn_twt This is great! I put this in Cycles and then did a few tweaks to the materials, lighting etc to make it more accurate but with also a bit of artistic liberty to try to get the mood similar to the original (instead of re-creating lighting setup exactly). The current result:

@teortaxesTex Only until ~25 to develop oneself, to not be stuck in sub-optimal, obsolete ways? That is indeed terrifying!. It creates a lot of pressure to be the best one can be in any aspects that will become rigid by age 25. But how can one know how to do this correctly in-time??.

@testaccountoki A more capable model means you do not need so many messages to do the same thing!. GPT-4 needs to be hand-held for many steps and often needs to be ran multiple times to get the best result. Whereas GPT-5 is much more reliable and can do entire projects well in a single prompt.

@Viper_png Aren't mixels when the "pixel" art isn't on the actual grid?. For the block placement, I think I can see what they might mean. The "blocky" arch, for example, has extremely large blocks that don't seem to be on a real grid at all. Basically voxel equivilent of 2D mixels.

@levelsio @larry0x I refuse to use any platform that doesn't let me root it to get updates years after manufacture support and do things like system-wide ad blocking, and where you have to pay for super basic things like terminal emulators and RAW photography.
Today, we are launching something unlike any tech product in 2024: a product that uses zero AI and zero computational photography to produce natural, film-like photos. We call it Process Zero.

@levelsio For uploaded images, the largest dimension must be no larger than exactly 900px. For profile pictures, the limit is 400px. If neither dimension exceeds 900px (or 400px for profile images), then transparency will work:.

@strangestloop @nosilverv If subject of a photo is an object and not a person, I would rather look at just the object without the person blocking it no matter what the person's gender is. The nice thing about GPT-5 is that you don't need so many messages to get good results. It's so much more reliable with a huge context length that you can just do entire projects in a single prompt and it will do them extremely well and without error.

@GrantSlatton @mbusigin That means you specifically want Apple to allow iOS to have 0 animated transitions, not that you want someone new to invent an OS like that. Plenty 0-animated-transition OS's already exist; they're just not made by Apple.

@eigenrobot Does this happen if one uses a third-party camera app like OpenCamera or only in the official app?. Either way, still possible to get an unmodified photo depending on phone. My Librem 5 has an entirely open source camera stack and takes photos in RAW. Grainy, but not AI-like.

@BenjaminDEKR I've reached ChatGPT's 50-prompt limit several times trying to get the best result for an image. This image is the last out of 59 attempts, for example. But even with 50 takes of every single sceneโฆ $5000 and time for iterating is STILL vastly more attainable than $1,000,000+.

@kennyfellows @BrassBruton @growing_daniel In Los Angeles, it often takes well over twice as long to get to places if going far enough โ more like 3 times as long or more. And yes, this would qualify as a place without a good metro system โ although part of it does have good metro, most does not.
