From a previous article - she saved £12k in a year and joined with a partner to buy a property with a £30k deposit in 2004. Then bought 2 BTL with her dad. Divorced and moved back in with her parents, and then moved in with latest partner who already owned a house.

Millennials are nearly/over 40 now. Presumably the increasing noise is in part because of the fear of being stuck renting and not being able to afford to retire - it’s certainly a strong anxiety in our household.

I just don’t get it. When I gave birth there were male doctors, male visitors in the wards. Why is that okay but not eg Mary who happened to be Martin at birth, who is also unwell in bed? Private rooms are for clinical need. Corridors are segregated. It’s all nonsense, isn’t it.

I’m surprised to hear that. I grew up on a working class estate, lots of us expected us to buy houses like our parents who had often worked 2-3 jobs to buy them. By 40 our parents had paid off half their mortgage, we’re stuck renting.
