Anti-blackness is still so palpable and prevalent in the Korean community, especially in churches. We’ll consume Black music, language, culture, fashion but reject Black people. Not confronting this has been a serious missed opportunity in the past few years.

Christianity bloomed across Africa and Asia, long before Western missionaries assumed world evangelization was their destiny. Here is the Nestorian or Xi’an Stele, erected in 781, a thousand years before Hudson Taylor’s birth, documenting 150 years of the early Church in China

@Phil_Johnson_ God is simple, and therefore he is not the sum of all his parts, as this article claims. His holiness, wrath, justice, and love are all expressed in unison. Ortlund clearly expresses this in his book, especially God’s particular grace to the repentant. Terrible review.

Not to toot my own horn but as a good Gordon Connell student that was trained to write an exegesis paper for each sermon, my big idea for a sermon Luke 19 during seminary was that “Repentance comes from a place of acceptance, not shame.” Exegesis is important. And life saving.

It's amazing that people will straight up lie about the Bible and then accuse me of being dishonest. Jesus accepted all three of those people BEFORE they repented. In fact, he NEVER tells Zacchaeus or the woman at the well to repent or stop sinning. He loved and accepted them

If white evangelicalism followed historic Church tradition, we would not use: 1. the Great Commission as a foundational text for missions. 2. penal substitutionary atonement as the primary framework for understanding the Crucifixion. 1/

DEI isn’t about forcing you to change your beliefs. It’s driven by the idea that you should love your neighbor as yourself, and the idea that everyone should be treated with dignity, and made aware of & have access to the opportunities to succeed in the workplace.
