@BostonByBirth @BillAckman @EPotterMD @UHC her story isnāt all that unusual. the low level insurance schmuck on the phone probably didnāt expect her to be in the middle of a case. the solution is that there needs to be a way for physicians to bill insurance companies for deliberately wasting our time as a deterrant

@AdamRodmanMD @AaronGoodman33 waiting for it to hit plus tier. pro is a little expensive for my tastes but it might be worth buying for a month and sharing the account with all of my colleagues. regular chatgpt sure makes it easy to answer questions though after speed clicking through the modules.

Another life saved by the CT scan! This is what 90% blockage looks like. 50, vegetarian, no alcohol, exercise, no symptoms, ldl cholesterol 90 (in the green). Took the scan, got a stent & avoided the silent killer. Do the same. $150 & 15 mins can save your life! š¤š

@Patrick49012564 @DavidLBrownMD my understanding of the pathophys is that with stable slowly developing blockages typically the body has had time to develop collateral circulation so stenting the main lesion just makes the pictures look better.

@justintrimble @RhythmHelp @altcap if theyāre asymptomatic theyāve probably developed collateral circulation over time. Placing a stent only makes the pictures look better. Stents are mainly effective when youāre having an active coronary event with acute clot formation
