Yeah more than anything I’ve seen on that sub this is one that needs an update. This is so fundamentally flawed that this fuckin guy absolutely lets his SO walk all over him in the creepiest way imaginable.
“What’s up there will upset you anyways” like damn dude go take a look.
Pretty cool that with the Nuge getting 100 points, Edmonton has as many 100 point players this season as the Toronto Maple Leafs have had in their entire history
I always liked Cam Talbot in Edmonton, even when his performance was pretty poor, but I love that he had the nutsack to go out there and square up at centre ice with noted crazy person Mike Smith. Giving up an inch or two and 20 pounds in that matchup.
@OilDoug
@LeafsUpdates21
You have 2 players…2 the rest are league average or below players. Not sure you want to brag about that. Especially when Drai or McDavid choose not to come back to Edmonton.
The Oilers are getting absolutely smoked and they have a guy on the bench coaching the defence whose coaching experience has mostly been limited to coaching his fucking kid.
That is vintage OBC, DoD, Daryl Katz era Edmonton Oilers horseshit.
Remember when Devon Toews went for two second round picks last summer. I’d almost be willing to bet the rent that Ken Holland doesn’t even know who he is.
Remember when we signed Milan Lucic to be our “guy that knows how to win” guy and after we traded him he said he needed to play with an older captain to be successful? Almost like that whole narrative is bullshit
Pretty bush league that Mike Smith was too injured to talk to the media but still could finish the game. For a “battler” he sure let the crowd get under his skin.
Every time Evan Bouchard makes a rookie mistake I’m extra thankful they sat him all last season so he couldn’t get more game experience. Delay that learning curve
I don't care if
@NHLBlackhawks
Connor Bedard plays less than 65 games this season. He's the NHL rookie of the year. He met the hype and surpassed it.
From the latest ep of THE DROP, available on all podcasting platforms and YouTube on the NHL on ESPN channels.
Gregor, Spector, Leavins, Matheson, Jones, and Staples.
This is basically the heart of the order for the 1927 Yankees but for shitty sports media. A class of their own.
Taylor Hall had 7 shots on net tonight. In a tight, hard hitting playoff game. Playoff type player, thrives in big situations.
Zack Kassian had 18 all season. Sure glad we tied up a bunch of money for term there.
So many people assured me Ken Holland is the greatest drafting GM of all time. He was going to build through the draft. He’s been here for 5 years with zero fucking help from a single draft pick. Fucking brutal
Paying to take on Duncan Keith’s salary so Chicago could afford Seth Jones leading to Nurse getting 9.25 is maybe my favourite hockey example of the butterfly effect
The "trades are hard" GM is also the "what did you want me to do? Get him for free?" GM that PAID to take on a bad contract while others are being PAID to take on bad contracts.
You make the mistake (Campbell) you're expected to fix it. It's your fault it's hard. Figure it out.
The craziest thing about this rollercoaster of a season for the Oilers??? Paul Coffey seemingly being the least qualified of all the OBC hires and then actually having some success.
The
#Sabres
Tage Thompson has more goals in one period than the
#Oilers
Jesse Puljujarvi has in his last 42 playoff & regular season games.
Playoffs 16GP 2G 1A 3Pts
2022-23. 26GP 1G 5A 6pts
I can’t believe how many hours
@JasonGregor
spent arguing with people about Zack Kassian being a proven and legitimate top line option in the NHL. I can’t think of another Oiler forward in the last decade who’s been both this bad and this overhyped by the media. Bewildering shit
Mikko Koskinen has played too many games in far too short a time. Maybe betting on the 40 year old worst goalie in the entire NHL as a back up was a dumb fucking idea but hey I’m not a HHOF GM
Wow someone who “played the game” and is “from a hockey family” (cc:
@KurtLeavins
) managed to look at some spreadsheets and come up with an analysis that fairly describes Jesse Puljujarvi as a flawed but valuable player. Part of the solution he says.
@RussoHockey
“We’re ready to do what it takes to pad our personal stats as much as we can on the PP so we can clean up at our next contract all while taking the playoffs off!!” - there fixed it for ya!
tippett: "i thought we did a lot of things well tonight. our goaltender wasn't very good and we didn't find enough pucks at the net to get us back in the game."
