55 minutes for the 18km from Makati CBD to Filinvest Alabang. It doesn't have to be difficult to bike between the city and southern Metro Manila. All we need is a connected bike network or to be lucky enough to ride when there are near zero cars on the service road.

94% of the public don't own cars Tim, they don't need more car lanes. The greater good would be to give the entire road to busses, motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Drivers don't like it when you report them for overtaking in the bike lane. They really hate it when they turn around, get out of the car and aren't able to intimidate anyone.

People's 4 favorite topics of conversation: 1. How bad traffic is 2. The expensive gas is 3. How hard it is to find parking 4. How expensive parking is People already hate driving. I think we need to send a clear message that cars are unwelcome guests in cities.

Reality about private cars vs public transport is people wont Take public transport even if Its readily accessible and easy if driving a car is easier and cheaper. To put it bluntly you have to make it suck to Drive a car.

It's some Ayala Land level carbrain to think a commute to the airport is unreasonable. Meanwhile, people in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seattle, Taipei, Amsterdam, and hundreds of other cities just get on with it.

@AsuladorBlu Why are you cycling on a busy street without a bike lane? Is that a fault on a motorist that you have been a nuisance on the street or the LGU's for not giving you Space? This is simple logic you should be able to answer without you sounding like the 2nd coming of Jesus!

2 questions: 1. Why would you choose to drive down Ongpin or anywhere in Binondo? 2. Why isn't Binondo fully pedestrianized? Most of the goods seem to be moved by hand carts or cargo bikes already anyway.

I could be wrong, but I'm getting a bit of an 'only in the Philippines' feel from the reactions to increased bike theft. So I'll just say: Bike theft in 1st world countries is orders of magnitude worse for both thefts of opportunity, and professional bike thief networks.

Public spaces should never be run by developers like AyalaLand. Their number 1 goal is always exclusive branding, and the public using their public spaces harms that branding.

I was at Legazpi Active Park late at night (9-11pm). The playground was empty. Decided to rest my bike nearby so I could have it within sight while I sat. Not long after, a guard approaches and reprimands me. I apologize, too tired to argue. I'm about to bring it to the rack.

@Doc4Dead @desamting This is the same logic as saying "Anybody looking into how walking (and other vehicles) are not safe and yet pedestrians use it as transport?" Cars kill 1.3 million people worldwide every year. Cars and the speed they go are always the problem.
