Traffic was free flowing in LA up until 3/5/2024.

My mom got a camera tix for blocking the xwalk. She had to do < 30 min online training by deadline or pay a fine. If she got a 2nd tix within ~1 yr for same offense, she would have had to pay both fines. So she never did it again. $0 fine, better driving. Why would anyone oppose

The context is that people have been living in vehicles along PCH that stretch, and the residents in Coastline have been trying to ban parking there forever. So my guess is the bike lanes are their solution to stopping people parking overnight there.

📣 Bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, and all 2-wheeled vehicles are temporarily prohibited on PV Drive South from from Wayfarers Chapel to Schooner Dr due to land movement. The temporary prohibition was implemented by the City Council on June 18 and will be revisited in 6 months.
