The most important thing about this amazing Paris transformation is how fast it happened — how fast people on bikes “appeared” — once streets were transformed. You can’t write this off as “ #Paris was always this way,” because it wasn’t. It took leadership.

I no longer have any interest in talking about “shared responsibility”. Ban these and then we’ll talk. The top of my head doesn’t reach the hood, its tires take up half the “buffered bike lane”. This thing has no business being in flat, dry, asphalt covered downtown Santa Monica.

Since so many people recommended I report it, I gave it a try. Here is how it went. Disclaimer: it’s as disappointing as one would expect. (Screenshots because I’m too tired to type all this here).

I might not sound like it, but this terrified the hell out of me. I guess he succeeded. I’m so f-int tired of this… 😔 I also love how having video evidence of people threatening you with a deadly weapon for no reason basically does nothing. They can just keep doing it.

Hi @LADOTofficial , Why do you need Jeeps for parking enforcement? And can you pls learn the rules of the road if you’re going to turn right on red? Because that’s not how you do it safely/legally.

Please give these metal bollards and raised crosswalk a standing ovation. And then go ask for more.

@KNXBaird @knxnews I couldn’t even count how many cars I see rolling through stop signs every day. You know, the thing that kills 43k people in the US each year. Anyways, look up the safety data on the Idaho stop.

Great job @LADOTofficial . This family was forced to run across this 6 lane stroad because the walk signal never turned on. 😞 It’s not “just” that the Expo lights take FOREVER, I’ve seen so many of those beg buttons straight up fail. Bundy didn’t work either tonight…

When 20 customers come into your restaurant, don’t require a single parking spot, and they come HUNGRY. Bikes mean B U S I N E S S.

I really really reaaaally don’t give a F about your community input and all your “bla-bla-blaaa”. Fix these freaking streets. Now. The problem is obvious, and we know the solutions. Implement them.

@powercurve5280 Even if he didn’t know, he thought it was a sidewalk (his words). That doesn’t make it any better. If he really thought he wasn’t blocking anyone, he could’ve just apologized and said he didn’t realize.

Cancelled my plans, went home, and got my bike. All these people weren’t as lucky. Do better @metrolosangeles , people depend on you.
