My neighbor and friend was assaulted in downtown Santa Monica this afternoon. He is a partly disabled senior. He does not deserve to be assaulted on the streets of Santa Monica. I pledge to do my part to make the streets of my city safe. We, all of us, MUST do more!

I was unanimously appointed to a seat on the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission by the Westside Cities Council of Governments. I take the health of Santa Monica Bay as the highest calling for all of our residents, visitors, and wildlife, both above and below the water.
My father was a Marine on this ship.He obtained shore leave July 3rd, was walking in Palisades Park when he met my mother by the cannon. She was on her way to the Pier with girlfriends.They peeled off from the group and walked to Ocean Park. Married a few months later!

The Georgian Hotel on Santa Monica’s Ocean Avenue had its official reopening this morning. This 90 year old structure has been impeccably restored and reflects the proud history of the Georgian. I was happy to participate in the ribbon cutting.

I fully agree with you and the Santa Monica City Council passed a resolution one year ago to have the LA County Health Department stop any needle distribution on our streets or in our parks. Our City Council’s request continues to be ignored.

Breaking: Woman killed at Croft House on N. La Brea has been identified as 24 year old Brianna Kupfer. LAPD says Kupfer was working alone when a homeless man stabbed her to death and ran into back alley. Killer remains on the loose. Police believe this was a random attack.

A new gourmet butcher shop opens today at 1426 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. McCall’s Meat & Fish harkens back to the old days when neighborhood markets, fishmongers, and butcher shops were the standard in our town.
I rolled with Santa Monica’s finest today. I sat in for eight hours with the firefighters and paramedics of SMFD Station 3 (engines 3 & 4). Kind, competent, dedicated, caring, and professional, I was so proud of this group of SMFD firefighters. They save lives every day.
Sogna Toscana had their grand opening on Thursday, July 27 at 1512 Montana Avenue. Mayor Pro Tem Negrete and I were there to help cut the ribbon. Wines, authentic Italian charcuterie and a beautiful outdoor patio await all of us.
Marmalade Cafe had their Santa Monica ribbon cutting on Thursday 4/18 and they opened to a packed house at their newest location at 525 Santa Monica Blvd. The new Marmalade will align with the other members of their chain in menu and seating than the old Montana location did.

I was outraged last week. The victim had 14 staples in his head and numerous cuts, bruises, and broken ribs. He was just going to work. The juvenile attackers were tracked by our drone, arrested by SMPD and then immediately released. Saw a Sheriff’s exec the next morning. 1/2
