Great moment at the end of our vaccine clinic when our lovely young security staff came forward and asked could they have their first vaccines after watching all the HCPs talking to patients all day. They said their info had come from peers and social media.

Can I also say off the back of this tweet, don’t underestimate the importance of having medical staff that people can relate too, young, older, different socio economic backgrounds, to have reach and compete with social media we must have diversity in health care.

When will we accept that the General practice 10 minute appointment system is no good for patients and is taking clinicians to breaking point. With a looming mental health crisis I think now would be a good time.

I can’t imagine gaining a Doctorate and then being piled on by a tonne of undergrad and recent post grads for using my Doctor title. There’s a million confusing things in the NHS, we should certainly work on improving that across the board rather then rounding on individuals.

PAs there was a time when ANPs were called “Noctors” and it was publicly debated if we had the skill. We got feedback that some of our colleagues didn’t want us or weren’t supportive of the role. It’ll pass, it’s ugly and not a true reflection of what health professionals think

Something that has become apparent to me is that we could really do with a GP advanced practice module. The expectations of what ANPs can deal with has grown but the training hasn’t necessarily caught up, contraception, Minor illness, blood results. Would love to see it happen.

@eveosh What’s always blows my mind is how people working for an organisation go so all in to protect the organisation, no sense of individual morality. Fair play to the consultants for never letting it go. I can imagine it’s taken a huge personal toll on them over the years.

@drtarageorge @mellojonny And actually if I remember correctly looking at child adhd diagnosis comparing to adults there is a huge number of undiagnosed adults many who will now be finding out about adhd and self referring down the private route

If we are to retain Nurses in General Practice then we need to start talking about the glass ceiling that exists. Twice this week it’s been raised with me that there is rarely a grade above an agenda for change 8a in General Practice and this is for ACPs not leadership roles.
