My new BL VN, Rain and the Wolf, has been released 🎉
Caught up in a fierce storm while out in the woods, Rain has to take refuge with the mysterious werewolf, Zero.
Can Rain unravel Zero's past without meeting a grisly end?

Your average book is around 80-100k, while a lot of popular Japanese VNs are 300k+. In a lot of cases engaging with VNs requires you to do more reading than you would with a book lmao
My free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here, has been released on Steam!
It's a fairytale-inspired horror story with three(?) love interests, all of whom adore you obsessively.
Also, it contains cannibalism. That's a thing too!
🫀
i got my former english lit professor to read umineko (a man whose job is to teach classics like romantic poetry, victorian lit, & he's also written books on these things) & he said umi was one of the most ambitious stories he's read in any medium lol
I respect Umineko as a medium, but its fans honestly seem so pretentious and overrate the shit out of it that it kinda annoys me, I don't doubt it's good (or bad), but c'mon it can't be that good lol, like, just play other visual novels lol, and actual VNs. not ADV games
nice things to say to your girlfriend:
- you're very kind
- you're fun to be around
- you're so smart
- you look nice in that outfit
- you're very chewable
all these people upset about 'meme english vns' should check out thr vn section of itchio sometimes, there are literally thousands of vns there (lots of them free) made by people who love the medium who have sincere and heartfelt stories to tell
My free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here, has been released!
It's a spooky story with fairytale vibes featuring three cute(?) girls who all love you very much!
Don't you want to be adored to the point of insanity?
🫀
it kinda makes me sad that steam's doing a visual novel promo event, but decided to feature the walking dead in the event's trailer over things like clannad, steins;gate, or higurashi
it feels kind of exclusionary :/

Even if he did say that (which he didn't) I don't see why it'd be an issue. A creator's feelings about their own work shouldn't influence how the consumers feel about it (+ creators have their own preferences & things they like to work on more than others, it's normal)
while this is (probably) a joke, it is true that vns sell pretty terribly and it's hard to turn a profit on them
most people who work w/ vns do so out of passion, so please support your suffering vn devs when you can 🙏✨
Since the Saya Fumo has made more money in 28 hours than all our visual novel releases for the last 28 years combined (including Saya no Uta somehow) we're rebranding to Dave's Fumo Emporium and focusing exclusively on Saya fumos forever.
Shut-in Vampire has been released! ❤️✨
It's a free yuri stat/chatsim about a newly-turned vampire, Mayu.
Earn enough money to pay your rent at the end of the month while flirting with cute girls online! They might even let you nibble on them 👀
🦇
people often think that all visual novels have a heavy romance focus (& people also conflate them w/ dating sims a lot), but there's loads of vns out there in all sorts of genres. the medium is more diverse than people think!
Game Devs, what are some common misconceptions of our industry as a whole or a specific part of work you do?
I wanna use this question as a way to educate those who do not work in our field and possibly shed some light on common thoughts that aren't correct.
Cannibal lesbians? On Steam dot com???
It's more likely than you might think 👀
WL my free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here, on Steam if you want to be notified when it comes out!

thanks twitter for removing the option to translate text. now how am i supposed to know what the japanese artists i follow ate for lunch, or what they bought at the convenience store? 😮💨
the "all vns are just trash fanservice" hot take which gets thrown around is annoying b/c a) a story having sexual content doesn't void of it worth and b) putting jvns aside, if you check itchio for 10 seconds you'll find thousands of poignant indie vns w/ things to say
hey did you know there's a lot of cool vns on itchio (& a lot of them are free!) written by creative people who are very passionate about vns as a medium?
some free vns on itch i've read are incredibly good, you just need to give them a chance!
he also said he was shocked it wasn't more well-known and that there wasn't any serious academic essays about it because there's so much to dig into and explore
random thought but i think it's kind of strange so many people seem to want vns to have gender changeable/customisable protags when it's not that common in the medium to begin with
i think its fine if people dont like vns, we all have different tastes, i just dont get why vn haters feel the need to yell about how reading is for losers & vn fans 'dont know what real games are' all the time 😔
Fragile Feelings has been released on Steam and Itchio!
It's a sweet, slow burn yuri VN about a shy teacher & a gothic school nurse.
Loosely inspired by Flowers, it's a soothing story which should heal your heart! ❤️

shout out to everybody who bought some version of rpg maker during a steam sale thinking they were going to make their own game
then left it lying untouched in their steam library for half a decade
idk what op means by 'shoujo', but there's a lot of yuri games out there which don't have any gacha elements.
i've written like a dozen yuri vns myself which cover a pretty broad range of genres and settings
>looking for new yuri
>ask the lesbian if their yuri is gacha or shoujo
>she doesn't understand
>i pull out an illustrated diagram explaining what is gacha and what is shoujo
>she laughs and says "its good yuri sir"
>look inside
>its gacha
i'll shut up about this at some point, but it pains me that sweetest monster sold over 5k copies on steam and is one of my most successful commercial vns to date, and the sequel hasn't even sold 50 copies on itchio yet and was banned from steam altogether :/
why is cannibalism looked down upon?
is it morally reprehensible for birds to sing?
for flowers to bloom? pigs to eat slop? no.. of course not
so why is a girls natural instinct the exception
I'll be releasing my free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here, on Steam later this week!
Do consider wishlisting it if you want to be notified of its release!
Don't you want to be adored by a trio of cute, murderous fairytale girls?
🫀
seeing hbomberguy mentioning visual novels in this interview re: the plagiarism video was a nice surprise
it's just an offhand comment in a larger piece but i'm always happy when people acknowledge vns w/o turning them into jokes 🙏 ✨
the whole "vns aren't real games, they're so low-effort, why do they exist" rhetoric is exhausting
can we not just let people like what they like w/o all the complaining...
It's the weekend, so why not treat yourself by spending some time being chomped on by a cute anime girl in my free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here?
We all deserve a bit of lesbian cannibalism in our lives 💕✨

It gets so lonely here has received over 50 reviews on Steam!
Thank you very much to everybody for supporting this humble vn dev who writes cannibal lesbians; it means a lot to me! 💕✨
If you're interested, you can read about my deranged girls here:
Since I'm seeing a lot of backlash against ironic meme VNs on Twitter, it seems like a good time to mention that I'm a Western VN dev who writes a lot of (mostly) sincere and heartfelt stories!
Please check them out, if you're so inclined ✨
Rituals in the Dark has been released on Steam! It's an atmospheric yuri VN largely set at night in an abandoned house.
Check it out if you like cute girls and vague dread!
I'll be releasing my otome VN set in Iceland, With Eyes of Ice, this Friday!
Please consider checking it out if you like handsome boys (who cry), sexual tension, and suffering! 🎉

My newest yuri VN, Salome's Kiss has been released! It's a gothic romance set in the Victorian era that features cute girls, suffering, and cute girls who suffer. What's not to like?! 💕
🫒 Steam:
🫒 Itch:
behind every nice-looking custom screen in a ren'py vn is a very tired stressed out dev who probably spent like 4 hours tearing out their hair and struggling to code it
i genuinely don't understand why anybody would want to make a vn if they don't like vns already, since they're so niche and they don't tend to make a lot of money (with some exceptions)
i think most english vns are passion projects
I got some new followers, so I'll introduce myself 💦
I'm ebi & I write VNs! I've been doing this for almost 10 years & I've released a lot of Stuff!
I mostly write yuri, but I also write BL & het. My interests are broad! 💕
My Steam dev page:
My free yandere yuri VN, It gets so lonely here, has been translated into French!
Now you can enjoy being chomped on by a cute cannibal who loves you just a little too much in even more languages! What fun!

how it feels when you're an indie vn dev and you're the project manager and only financer and you're also the writer, the editor, the coder, the social media manager, and the marketer
you know it really peeves me when people defend ai like 'but don't you want personalised entertainment made just for you???'
you can literally do that already, i was writing pokemon fanfic to amuse myself when i was 7
I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, Raptor Boyfriend: A High School Romance, Hustle Cat, Jurassic Heart, Hatoful Boyfriend, Boyfriend Dungeon, Arcade Spirits, Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, Monster Prom and Doki Doki Literature Club.
i've shared this a few times before, but this steam review on my linear yuri visual novel (which is clearly described as such on the store page) is pretty funny lol

devs!
It appears that our latest project is getting some tough reviews. Reading feedback, especially negative, is one of the toughest parts about being a game designer.
What's the worst review one of your games received?

making vns can be kind of tiring sometimes since a) there's a bias against vns in general b/c "urgh reading" and/or "urgh anime romance" and b) there's a bias against evns amongst vn fans b/c "these don't look like/read like the japanese vns i'm used to"
what if there was a free dating sim like needy streamer overload but it was gay, and you play as a lesbian vampire girl who needs to pay her rent by the end of the month while trying to seduce cute girls online so she can nibble on them
what if............
