Just got back from a fun trip to play Lookout Mountain then Sweetens Cove. Perfect back to back days. Cold, wet, and windy at Lookout made for a tough day but I love that course. Still deciding where it sits on my list, but in the top 3 for sure. And Sweetens is always the best

Landmand was everything I imagined it would be and more. I had very high expectations but it exceeded all of them. Excited to try and break 90 tomorrow morning. Just missed by 1 today.

Cherokee CC in Knoxville yesterday was a perfect stop on my way home. A little more forgiving compared to Sewanee and did an awesome job fitting some cool holes in a tight property. Wasn’t sure what to expect but glad we made the stop.

In the coming years we will restore the jaw dropping Hyde Park G&CC in Cincinnati, OH. This 1921 Ross is a massive “sleeper” and we can’t wait to expose the stunning routing, phenomenal set of original Ross greens & wildly bold ravines that would leave even Shoreacres salivating!

Shame no one else is walking. Only one out here doing so. Couldn’t imagine trying to see Lawsonia from a cart. And my first picture doesn’t do it justice but the view from 13 tee is unreal. Love how the 10, 13, and 14 greens all line up.

Last minute evening 9 with my dad at Hyde Park. I know I’m biased since I work here but this place special. The contours were highlighted nicely with the sunsetting. Can’t wait for it to see its full potential.

First stop at Spring Valley was fun. Lots of cool stuff out there. Must have been an amazing course. Way too many trees and all the greens shrunken to plain circles but enjoyed the round. Next stop Eagle Springs.

On the tee on 7 at Lawsonia. Absolutely love this course. I think 6 is my favorite but 5 not far behind. But that might change as each hole is exciting!

I’ve seen a lot of “best of 2023” lists but I’ve been holding out since I thought I had one more trip left. Just confirmed plans to Lookout Mountain next Sunday and then Sweetens the next day. Should be a pretty good back to back trip.

Really enjoyed Broadmoor. Was surprised how open the fairways were. Loved the green complexes and how many of the greens rolled into tees or the shared tees. And nice finally meeting

Last minute trip to one of my favorite places, Harrison Hills, yesterday. I had to rep my new hat from my friend

love it!! While 15 might be most of the attention, 16 is my favorite hole out there. The tee shot is and approach are both exciting and interesting!

No. 15 - par 4 - 356 yards
This short Langford & Moreau par 4 is a classic drive-and-pitch hole. Play to your favorite yardage off the tee and then face the intimidating approach shot to an elevated green with trouble all around.

Last but definitely not least, Cleveland Heights. Might have been my favorite that I played while down in Florida. Pretty wide open and has some cool history. A must play if in the area. Played the first 9 with a group of seniors in their mid 70’s and up. All walked! Love that!!

Dunedin Golf Club: Lots of fun on this course. My dad nor I lost a ball, which is saying something. Tough opening stretch of holes but some really cool features. Love the par threes and

is one of the best courses out there. Even though it gets some high praise, it’s still very much underrated.
It's always mesmerizing to look at the greens at The Loop. These get better with every go around.

Trip finalized. Leaving after work Friday to drive near Sand Valley. Then Sand Valley at 7 on Saturday. Lawsonia at 3 while staying the night on-site. Then on my way home, hitting Spring Valley at 6:40 am. Plan to walk all 3 then with a caddy to save my shoulder at Sand Valley.
