@3rdreviewer @smishra677 looks very cool! i think there's a connection to the joint 2-site SFS used in & and to the bSFS in i think that last one infers average r from just the SFS spectrum

@quantian1 i love the people who complain about developers turning everything into 5-over-1s while also citing Vienna as a model city

@davidshor @nbeaudrot @MarkovMagnifico i think it's mostly just a coincidence. the natural mechanism would be something like but when you run through the actual matchups i don't think it makes sense
@iamwhoisme @davidshor @MarkovMagnifico suggests that there's a powerful overall election zeitgeist that can be in a 'bad vibes' or 'good vibes' state, which overrides partisanship surprising! mediated by more effective/efficient political campaigning/marketing, which tend to mirror each other in a given race?

@gravity_levity i think the lagrange multiplier derivation gets things backwards. it acts like you're starting from a hard constraint and then transforming it into a soft one. but physically the soft constraint is the starting point

@gravity_levity yeah, i realize i'm a weirdo here, and it would be hard to explain in a twitter thread. but i think you get better intuition by thinking about the system + reservoir and entropy as log of the number of states

@razibkhan We can make guesses and tell stories, but we shouldn’t fool ourselves about how much additional evidence the genetics is providing here
