I actually know someone who went to both. Came to JHU for the final part of his PhD with his advisor. Cornell is in Ithaca, which is country and laid back. JHU is in an urban environment where it literarily dominates the city. I can't see a significant difference in living exps.

Chuckles. This might be tangential to the conversation but many don’t realize that English is a pidgin language. That’s why it has many origin words from other languages. Why is this relevant? It is an extremely poor language for descriptions except it is used in a complex way
I actually dislike how Americans flatten the English language into a few set of lazy terms for everyday use, parading it presumptuously as the best approach. The sentence constructions are even lazier. I’ve been intuitively refusing to sound as pedestrian, and I love it.

People don’t understand the power of trivia as largely a way to become an effective networker. Whenever I meet someone new, I ask them where they’re from and 3 random things I know about their people/culture. Always works like magic
