Don't think the EU27 putting off decision on an extension is really very wise. If the objective is to avoid getting dragged into British politics, better to grant the terms stipulated in the letter of request. There won't be any clarity from London today, Monday or any other day

Think it quite significant that Sabine Weyand, the deputy chief negotiator and engine room of EU side negotiations is in Berlin not Brussels at the moment. Reality is that for all these visits from cabinet are meant to suggest momentum, there is not a lot going on of substance.

Here is my best bet: Downing St has given nod and wink to the loyalist Brexit Delivery Group of MPs to vote for extension of art 50 if a deal not in place by 13 March. On 12th, PM will bring back said deal to Commons. And say: vote for it, ERG, or I ask EU for a delay tomorrow

My interview on @bbc5live . If the Withdrawal Agreement cannot be put to the Commons again, we must leave the EU on 29th March as the law demands. We can return to Tusk's offer of a generous Free Trade Deal and, in the meantime, invoke standstill agreements of Malthouse Plan B.
