Spent the day pulling soil cores with @soilsdiva & @KStateSoilH2O in pasture, CRP, dryland and irrigated fields. I saw calcium carbonate threads at 2-3' deep and it reacted with acid! We found moisture at least 12" and much deeper in others (after our 3" rain about 2 wks ago)

@KathyGehl @FrankWaughKAKE Its not a fun day in northwest KS. Windy days like this at wheat drilling time with drought conditons is not a good combination. If there is soil blowing, the K-State Emergency Wind Erosion control is a good source of ideas to help reduce wind erosion.
