@NeilRetail Of course he has to say that. Most of his staff can't work from home and people working from home pull sales away from high street stores that he runs. It's not rocket science, he has a vested interest in not recognising the reality that most jobs wfh more productively

@WimpieEngel @ExploreCosmos_ Depends on the beam diameter. They were talking of a few hundred metres wide beam, which would only be a little more energy density than the sun, and a plane would be in it for fractions of a second.

@in_gyden @ExploreCosmos_ You need to grasp the dimensions a bit better. I'm not convinced by the overall technology but 1km at a distance of 36,000km altitude is quite small and would not need to be between the earth and the sun...

@matthew_barber BBC News - Less lighting 'has no crime effect' There are countless reports showing it has no impact on crime or safety. Stop the constant light pollution.

@TechCrunch @Haje You know its because it was going to be a legal requirement in the EU right? It was on the cards since 2018ish. Did you even do any reading before your knee jerked back in 2022?

@PhilipDaviesUK probably should put wee number plates round everyone's neck to track ASB. Maybe just tattoo their forehead. Number plates on bikes, waste of parliamentary time.

@Zalamanderzz @realbugsycat @SLIM_JAXA @DJSnM Technically, since NASA paid for several payloads, millions of US citizens did pay for it. But along with that goes risk and reward and great reward often comes with great risk of problems. Many of the instruments will have been designed to operate in unfavourable landings.

@Anthony97832535 @SLIM_JAXA Wider legs = either more stowed volume (may not fit in rocket) or deployable structures that can stick or not deploy. In craft like these we tend to simplify everything possible to minimise the chance of failure, so it depends what is judged the most likely failure.

@DeliverooHelp @AdamRusted Probably wants to eat their order, not just track its lack of movement.

@RoyalMailHelp @palmtreeville What a farce. We are being paid to deliver to you. Please change your day around so we can deliver. Oh we didn't make it at that half day slot, what a shame, ah well its only an aim. Amazon can hit a 1 hour timeslot, why is a postal service worse?

@Schiphol @Marechaussee Been like this every visit for the last 12 months. It's totally demolishing your reputation, the queue are angry and pointing out they'll fly elsewhere in future.
