@leashless I guess my take is that a lot of changes will happen organically. Cities will hollow out as they become unsustainable. But indeed infra is good to get done in advance.

It is interesting, I don't know what to make of it, that the protagonists seem misgendered -- progress is more feminine, achievement is more masculine. And indeed Simon is a feminine man, Ryuko is a masculine woman.
