@boneslingernyc I mean private industry would have to it would just be wildly inefficient The university system functions as a MASSIVE startup incubator…where industry goes shopping and places bets on the roulette table. When it hits it’s like buying dollars for $0.07

I don’t know what the ideal set up is But I do know that ppl are defending status quo without understanding we’re in a viscous cycle where gov’t funding leads to good things but also corrosive bad things ppl don’t like …and it’s just a misread to pretend any change is bad

Nearly impossible to validate grievances without accepting ppl then doing something to “rectify” the grievance! This applies to EVERY social movement. And thus it’s paradoxically “better” to just not say someone was wronged lest you end up saying “don’t get justice like THAT”
