@boneslingernyc Well they are yes. And that’s a diff convo Basically the FDA started (but needs to maintain) a gigantic moat where you can’t get anything approved unless Phase II/III occur in US trials. Without that the Chinese will actually destroy a trillion $ industry

@boneslingernyc I mean private industry would have to it would just be wildly inefficient The university system functions as a MASSIVE startup incubator…where industry goes shopping and places bets on the roulette table. When it hits it’s like buying dollars for $0.07

@WASBAPPIN lol ironically lefties loves to cite the penicillin monograph being given away for free Anyway, I think the NIH is good obvi but come on. As I laid out in the thread this system (and all its auxiliary impacts) has changed a LOT since 1982 (heck even 2002)

@AstorAaron I mean I can see it in terms of “lower edu ppl are more anti semetic and there’s a multiplier effect as you get into non whites who have higher baseline of antisemitism + selecting only norm-busting Trump voters yields the highest distillation of it”

Roughly 30,000 Americans (~1.5% if the pop) died in the revolutionary war, a conflict not remembered as being terribly bloody But conflict is terrible and 3% of Gaza dying is somewhat amazing considering the dense urban environment & Hamas being indistinguishable from civilians
By a very conservative estimate, Israel killed 3% of Gazans in 15 months. Is there anythining close to this rate of killing of a population in the 21st century? About 3% of Syria's pre-war population were killed in their civil war; but over nearly 14 years, not 15 months.

@boneslingernyc @Coolapple28 Yes this was something that is logical in hindsight but no one saw at the time

@boneslingernyc I don’t disagree but Prof Galloway has been validating it all which is my point.

@JoshLipnik I admit to being a (((cosmopolitan))) elite in a blue oasis with zero understanding of what is going on in Ohio or the Midwest so fair enough

@goldnecklace2 Yeah I think ppl are afraid of critiquing therapy b/c then you sound like some far right loon …but it sure seems like a lot of therapy ends with “we’re gonna keep rehashing this over & over till you decide you need boundaries and cut off the ppl in your life”
