This is an important point @rodericogorman. Govt are being deliberately misleading & muddying the waters: drafting/tehnical changes are one thing, but a decision to water down the OTB and exempt services is a policy choice. Entirely different, nothing to do with the constitution.

We in @ChristianAidIrl @christian_aid are signatories to this letter, with @HRW and colleagues. For years EU states have roundly criticised illegal Israeli settlements, but support them economically. Ireland's Occupied Territories Bill a necessary step & model for all EU MS
All #EU states say #Israel's settlements are illegal and an "obstacle to peace", linked to very serious abuses. Then why do they keep trading with them? 163 NGOs & trade unions urge @vonderleyen to #StopTradeWithSettlements, comply with #ICJ ruling:

Having watched far too many Dáil & Seanad debates over the years, I think there's a good argument that Alice-Mary Higgins is the hardest working politician in Leinster House. Always turns up, leaves no stone unturned, razor-focused on the detail. Great to see @aliceeire returned
On the #SE25 NUI panel: Michael McDowell re-elected on the first count; other incumbents Ronan Mullen and Alice-Mary Higgins also set to be returned

Very important to encourage reasonable disagreement 👍 Now to take a big sip of coffee and read an article entitled “Irish Stew”, in Rupert Murdoch’s UK broadsheet, full of basic factual errors and closing advice that Ireland’s President should just be more like King Charles
Hearing more Ireland-critical comment from both Europe and US. Latest is this editorial in the London Times. Some people are hyper sensitive to outside criticism and reasonable people can disagree on issues. But important to be aware of what others think

Nice RTÉ hat-tip to the @SeanadCEG: "It's also possible for legislative proposals to be initiated in the Seanad. The best example of this is the Occupied Territories Bill, which was initiated by Independent Senators including @frances_black & @aliceeire."
