Shared spaces? Gale scoffs. It's Indigenous people who have been sharing this land with you for centuries. Stop harming our brothers and sisters that your colonial system pushed onto the street in the first place, Gale urges.

@Jabel_Sound5 @DuaneBratt Bike lanes are not insignificant actually. They make roads safer for all people using wheels including strollers and wheelchairs. At least they are plowed in the winter.

A very easy process. Rumour has it that this summer will be especially sunny for ripe red tomatoes!

The Edmonton Police are tearing down an encampment on 106Ave and the LRT line. No agencies are here, only Police, Sheriffs and City Crews to tear down… The bus isn’t even here to take people to the new center. #ableg #yeg

Together we have the power to create a better city for all Edmontonians. Supporting the community is ongoing. We encourage you to continue to write EPS and City Council. Please consider donating to local outreach groups who are working hard to get supplies and support out.

@MikeEllisUCP As you know Minister Ellis, it cost $400 a day to incarcerate someone, $4000 a day in the ICU, and starts at about $35k-75k depending on need to provide housing and supports for a year. The criminalization of poverty needs to stop.

Every single displacement is a violation of treaty rights and our collective commitment to reconciliation. We will not stand by while EPS and CoE continue to subject Indigenous peoples to violence on their own land. 3/6

This morning the City assured the Court that there is available shelter space, but we believe their approach to determining adequate shelter space is flawed as it does not consider whether there is enough space for all who currently need emergency shelter. 4/6

Alberta Premier @ABDanielleSmith has left the door open to using the notwithstanding clause to pass proposed gender policies. Should the federal government intervene? @RachelNotley says “the notwithstanding clause was never designed to be used as casually.” #cdnpoli More:

Let's remember the importance of accessibility too. Many many PWD are living in inadequate spaces where they can't even access their kitchens.

46,155 Edmonton households are in core housing need, the city’s most recent housing needs assessment shows. Renters 4x more likely to be in need. Councillors are hearing about the city’s updated affordable housing strategy this morning. #yeg #yegcc

@drdagly And here's the irony. To be able to raise $5 million they'd have to fundraise from people who are working for or friends with the people suing them. $5M is a lot of bottle drives. And guess what? it TAKES $$ to fundraise.

The injunction hearing to try and stop the largest encampment sweep in Edmonton history has begun. The judge will not be providing an answer right away as he has another matter to attend to right away after this hearing. Follow for updates.
