The Edmonton Police Service today threatened us counter demonstrators with fines under CIDA ($10,000), yet they are not enforcing a court ordered injunction against excessive noise in our downtown.

Alberta is sitting on a projected 5.5B surplus. Meanwhile our schools are overcrowded, our hospitals are understaffed, and a record number of kids in care died this past year.
Where is the UCP government?

My toddler doesn’t eat food anymore, other than toddler charcuterie: cucumbers, pickles, marble cheese, and berries.
Can someone please confirm this is OK? normal?
Danielle Smith is rolling back queer and trans rights for youth by a decade with the stroke of a pen.
Putting kids at risk like this is incredibly callous and cowardly.

Public dollars should support public education. Full stop.
We must support the elimination of public funding for private schools
The erosion of our public system by the UCP in favour of charter and private school investment must be reversed.

It is dangerous for the mayor and others to continue to suggest that vulnerable Albertans do not have anywhere to turn. This is false and will lead to more folks choosing not to seek out shelter because they fear they’ll be turned away. (1/4)
The number of Edmontonians sleeping outside keeps trending up. Tonight, 821 people will sleep outdoors…this is unacceptable and we need urgent action from the province right now.

The claims that shelter spaces are unavailable is simply irresponsible and puts people at risk. Alberta’s government is ensuring there is enough shelter spaces in Edmonton for all who need it. This year Alberta's government is providing over $22 million to increase homeless
This is a completely misleading statement from the Minister. 7/10 other provinces, including conservative governed ones like MB, managed to agree to the federal terms… but not Alberta. This is entirely on

-Deep cuts to housing budget
-capital grants for market housing with no controls for renters.
-steep increase in new homebuyer tax.

What kind of a city is this?
It is a clear attack on our democratic institutions and we will do everything in our power to challenge it and to stop it.
