Athletics (aka track and field) is exempt from the statement “don’t specialize in one sport”. Athletics has 44 events in one sport. We are the fundamentals for every other sport. When someone specializes in Athletics, they either sprint, hurdle, vault, jump and/or throw.

I thoroughly enjoyed the commentator during the Olympic Trials for Men’s SP. He had all the facts and stats on all throwers and even shared info for new viewers like the weight of the metal shot. He needs to be the commentator for ALL throw events
