Hung out with a friend I’ve known for years but this time we were both out of school.

I’ve had a bosom friend since I was in grade 3. The kind of friend you’ve introduced to others for 15 years exclusively as “my best friend”. I realize that some don’t feel that kind of security and love for their entire lives. It’s truly special and I’m so lucky. Thank you, God!

I’ve been using social media a lot lately. Today, I watched Dune 2 in theatres. I thought about checking my phone 9 times in 3 hours and that’s unprompted by notifications. I didn’t check but had I not been in a theatre, I probably would’ve, right?

I agree, and like Mann says, I wholeheartedly believe that education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle.
However, universities are primarily a business tbh (we’re customers). So, I’d say that the genuine empowerment mostly applies only up to free, public education.
