A 5 day old baby to death. We don't know who committed the crime, but it was murder then and it's murder now. You can't pin this religion. There were other options such as leaving the baby somewhere where it would be found safe and put up for adoption. No CCTV or DNA back then

Unless it's matched for the worker, then there would be no question whatsoever that low paid workers (under 35K PA) would be better off on the dole, considering Transport costs,medical card,rent supplements, college grants etc. Alot already are, but bump up dole by €50.......

helping screening.We are damn lucky to have the screening programme we have in this country.We wouldn't have it only for the likes of Dr Grainne Flannelly&Mary Harney who fought hard to expand that programme. Both now are villified because of constant misinformation

How many infections are airborne is the question. Have there been schools that eliminated or severely reduced infections via filters. They seem to be the main sector that have embraced them. They can't even say are the particles enough to cause infections. Until that is known...

It's like saying asymtomatic transmission never existed. It's also a Teacher's workspace, and they have family members who the vaccine won't protect. If you're sitting with someone for 8 hours, surely you're more at risk at acquiring Covid in that setting, rather than a household

No only is it widely misunderstood,but it was wrongly labelled a scandal from day one,by those who knew absolutely nothing about screening. It was blown totally out of proportion & the Irish media&politicians need to finally admit to their roles.They've made screening non viable.
I've never seen a scandal as widely misunderstood as the CervicalCheck scandal and almost 5 years on people continue to perpetuate myths.
There's 5 common myths I see, worth discussion.
I doubt long threads do anything to change misconceptions but no harm in trying... 🙂

Some schools might have to close. We all don't live in areas where the roads outside our front doors are treated. Somehow I don't think school buses will run. Will you insurance company cover you if you crash?

Every year we train people up in College Courses that a good share of people will never ever work in. Basically courses where the students are just bums on seats.I would imagine almost all people who train as Drs go on to work in the medical field.

Because everyone goes there, because GPs don't want to touch any of that stuff any more, whether it's fear of litigation or what. Just my opinion. Our original GPs were Jack of all trades. Ringing ambulances wasn't anyway near as common. It was either ring them or the Undertaker.

No because common sense will tell you that they are venues for spread, and alcohol in general. There are more than likely alot more confirmed cases, but indoor Drinking is mostly for the vaxed now. There were definitely pub outbreaks in beer gardens back when they opened first

What Tony Holohan said in relation to the Cervical Check thing being poorly understood is actually a massive understatement. It's grossly misunderstood and the media along with others are the ones to thank for that. They're the ones that need to learn the biggest lessons.
