My PhD is on atrial fibrillation - faced with a patient in AF on night shift I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go for DCCV / amiodarone / beta blocker / magnesium / potassium / all the above / none of the above 😂 - humbling
This mornings
@BBCBreakfast
interview with the Health Minister on strike action by Junior doctors was an absolute disgrace
For the Junior doctors who sacrificed so much to keep us safe during the pandemic let’s put the record straight -they deserve better than this
@Mayhew1Mayhew
@TheBSCCP
If everyone presented posters with such cute babies present I’d probably listen to more poster presentations!
@TheBSCCP
have missed a publicity and marketing opportunity here!

@NadineDorries
please do the country a huge service and only comment on things that you actually have first hand experience of - there’s just not enough bandwidth for any other rubbish!
@MattHancock
Maybe ask the doctors in the nhs what tech they need! The problem with tech companies is they don't engage with the staff / patients and ask them what they need until the product is produced. Then they are amazed that it doesn't work! Also need to ensure all tech has evidence

There’s no evidence that strikes impact patient safety. Is the
@RCPhysicians
implying it does? Also sounds awfully like you’re suggesting only those belonging to a trade union support strikes. Simply wrong!
@lbc
what the heck is going on with the misinformation, lies and anti-vax nonsense from Majid Nawaz! This is simply dangerous
@Ofcom
really need to have a look into this! Disgraceful stuff!
@Azeem_Majeed
Whose gonna train them? - hospital doctors are already so stretched | the current crop of med students already get a bum deal for their 9k per year! How are we going to accommodate a whole group of apprentices? 🤷🏻♂️
Officially enrolled for my PhD (cardiovascular sciences) at
@LivUni
today. Enjoying this feeling before all the hard work makes me regret my decision 😂 Looking forward to getting started (and student discount again😳).

BREAKING: Junior doctors in
@HCSANews
have voted to strike. 97% voted yes on a turnout of almost 75%. The HCSA is a smaller union than the
@TheBMA
but this could indicate what many have suspected - the vote for strike feels almost inevitable.

Not sure you can say the backlog is exclusively due to covid. Waiting times have been worsening every year for the last 10-13 years - I think the conservatives backlog better reflects reality!
The NHS 🤝 New tech.
This type of collaborative innovation can help to take the burden off NHS staff and improve access to care by removing causes of delays in discharging patients.

is wildly out of step with how trainees are feeling. All royal college presidents should be engaging with their membership and voicing membership concerns - not drawing the bridge up behind them. Soon there will be no one left to pay college fees!
Incredible contempt for junior doctors from
@royalhospital
CEO Dr. Hal Spencer.
“Ultimately we need to make it not too comfortable for them”.
To fund it from the educational pot?
These are doctors FOR FUCK SAKE.
Context from OP provided in the last pic. Doctor is now in NZ.
@LiangRhea
Calm down - I don’t care what people say when they are making a referral I just understand that they are usually trying their best and if they don’t give me all the information that I want or need then it’s my failing not theirs - we just need to remember to be nice 👍
‘More than 60% feel negative or somewhat negative about life and about their future in anaesthesia’ taken from
@RCoANews
survey - what the heck is going on in anaesthesia - disaster for the profession if this is not taken seriously and addressed!!!

Mild coffee consumption (0.5-3 cups/d) independently lowered risks of stroke (-21%), cardiovascular (-17%) and all-cause death (-17%) - in largest study on this topic with 468,629 participants

Just finished last shift after a year in tertiary paeds - PICU ❌ (not for me) paeds anaesthesia ✅ (absolutely loved it) what’s not to love about sevo and bubbles! 😂 in a different life I reckon id sub specialise in paeds - just to get access to the sticker collection!

I think everyone in
@LivHospitals
knows who red scrub doctor is. He’s aware but very chilled about the fame (I think). Excellent doctor also! I think he should remain anonymous like the Stig on top gear 😂

Employing trusts sorting themselves out will never happen - this sounds like a complex solution that will depend on doctors raising concerns and defending why they should get band 3. I don’t think this is workable.
Just completed out next home purchase - thanks to

for making it a relatively painless process - all in 6 weeks from offer to completion - saving us a fortune on stamp duty phew! Huge huge huge relief!
