Pictured below is the MG42. The most feared of all Soviet semi-fully automatic pistols. A fire fate of 18000 bullets per second. The familiar sound of it firing sounding much like that of a squirrel giving birth. Fitted to latter variants of Buchons.
9 January 1939. Acclaimed British actress, Susannah York, was born in London. Her heyday was the 60s when she starred in films including Tom Jones, Oh What a Lovely War, Battle of Britain and They Shoot Horses Don’t They? She also became a 1960s style icon.
The Schezel Hardinob Istinkun Triandfart tank. If this had been built to full size it could have been a game changer but cunning Allied spies scribbled on the blueprints and got the Germans to build them at a much smaller scale (thus useless) and shortening the war by a weekend.
Without doubt the finest aircraft of the Second World War. The "Buchon" was designed by Dick Mellischnitt and it's name roughly translated (from it original Mexican to English) means "Chosen One of the Skies".
I've picked up some work as a historical consultant for a film set during the Napoleonic War of Troy 2. What do you think of the still from below? This is when Patton shot down the Swiss Navy.

This is not a ringer, the real deal. A box of Tamiya and Asuka kits left behind the bike sheds or I’ll wring his neck. And no going to the press.
The town of Battle in Sussex was named after the superb RAF fighter bomber in WW2. Facts.
(the 1066 number on the sign are the number of residents that live there)
Going through ‘stuff’ often has its surprises. This is the large format marketing/merchandise brochure for the film ‘Battle of Britain’. I rather like it.
@bobdoorbell
10 years after your appearance in The Battle of Britain film, I was impressed with your cameo role in the Battle of Brighton film (Quadrophenia). At least you had the courtesy to face the camera.
The M25 "Brown Bess" Garand (pictured) was the standard bolt action machine gun used by all sides during the Second World War Two. It was issued as optional kit to RAF pilots flying Buchons who kept it in the boot of their aircraft.
The film I'm historical advisor on about the Norweigen Vietnam war in Spain is going well. Below is a "red coat" French REME officer armed with a .003 Vickers Gun. These guns were later added to early variants of Buchons.
Confession time:
It was actually me that suggested Buchons were painted up to look like Hurricanes. It was a joke to try and win favour with the director Guy Hamilton whilst he had some Bovril by the doorway. Sadly, he took my joke as a serious suggestion and...here we are.
V sad to report that Stan Perry passed away this morning - the last troop commander of the Sherwood Rangers. Incredible to think he was wowing us at

Could the scenes in The Battle of Britain showing Squadron Leader "Skipper'"s home please be reshot without the anachronistic front & garage doors?
Colonel Gavin signs autographs for members of the Luftwaffen on the way to Tyne bridge in Belgium during Operation Market Allotment September 1944. Colourised.
Some compare me to that person on the train who insists on having their phone on speaker mode, others to that person who can't sing that always does kareoke or someone who always leaves the milk out.
I am the Battle of Britain Doorbell.
I was in a cracking scene with Sean Connery that was cut. I don't think he enjoyed my impression of him (doorbellsh) and he had a word with Dicky Attenborough. Gutted. Only surviving photo below.
Thanks
