@trickylabyrinth No it just means stripe is too big to fail. They should just stop paying AWS and dare then to shut off their servers.

@yacineMTB Had a similar thing happen to me but related to an internal transfer, manager wanted to hold off until they’d seen more diverse candidates. Told me that to my face.

@1pxlchibs @CodeRed_dev Politics doesn’t belong in a game engine and being actively hostile to your community is insane. They’ve just torpedoed their good will.

@1pxlchibs @CodeRed_dev Wake up they’re banning people for quoting the godot creators own words.
The Godot community manager is so out of control that they are blocking people who simply post the Godot creators words. They are lashing out blindly, blocking on whim in a rage, not realizing their creators own quotes or, on another case, blocking titanium level funding

@micsolana Palestine is not a national identity, it’s not complicated. It was invented by Yasser Arafat in the 70s. They’re Arabs that the other countries don’t want.

@0x_dea110c8 A masters level student should be able to understand basic computer operations, university quality in the US tends to be hit or miss.

@realGeorgeHotz The best products will be software running as close to the hardware as possible. Finally realizing all these years of hardware gains we’ve ignored.

@nikitabier You’re trying to tell me the creator of salesforce doesn’t come up with unique stuff, no way.

@Grummz Banning devs is like the dumbest thing they could do. Imagine Netflix removing a director’s movie because they didn’t like that they had a conservative viewpoint.

@SheriefFYI Amazing how willing software devs are to destroy several orders of magnitude in hardware innovation with a few lines of code.

@raysan5 Compiler will generate different instructions tho. Or are you saying we shouldn’t have different assembly instructions for signed vs unsigned.

@eigenrobot This is obvious, you can literally call yourself a communist and no one blinks an eye despite the fact they butchered hundreds of millions. Call yourself a Nazi on the other hand….

@SheriefFYI People have no concept that their machine can do 4 BILLION ops a second or what that speed means.

@raysan5 Hmm but the sign bit is important as the compiler treats it differently e.g. twos complement.

@0xglitchbyte With C you have to know, memory allocation, pointers, how to compile to different ISA’s, clang vs gcc vs msvc etc. I wouldn’t call HTML/CSS tags that hard. The rest of web dev is hard to learn but that’s just because it’s a mess not because the underlying concepts are hard.

@cmuratori Cinematography is in an all time golden age IMO, just look at Dune, The Batman, or Oppenheimer. The problem is we need to make ten $1 million movies instead of one $10 million movie. Give more upcoming directors a chance.

@GergelyOrosz Maybe a browser and AI models are not direct consumer products but more like infra, things consumers indirectly use to access the real value.

@eshear No it means being humble enough to realize that our understanding of intelligence and rationality is infinitesimally small.

@yacineMTB Hmm if it was 4 x $500k and you’re making $2 million a year that’s gonna be a tough one. Maybe join next year.

@SheriefFYI This is why you should build you own engine. Especially for 2d it’s not that difficult and you have full control.

@yacineMTB Hilarious how they break up all these groups by nationality and then there’s just “European”.

@GergelyOrosz Unfortunately there were a lot of new grads and interns that graduated and had big tech companies rescind their offers. So they might just think this is the new normal now.

@__phantomderp This is why if you actually care about what your code is doing you need to look at the ASM output if you get unexpected performance behavior.

@GergelyOrosz It’s pretty simple, once you’ve made enough money you want to work on cool stuff again.

Looks like Godot engine has some conflicts of interest. W4games received $8.5 million in funding. It’s owned by Juan and Remi the two Godot leads. You need to purchase services from their company if you want to port your game to console. Godot engine does not have this feature.
Hot take, but today is the day that W4Games lost my support, and unless there's a Godot fork in the near future, Godot as well.

@markessien @micsolana No I mean the one that elected its own government into power by choice. I mean the one which received $1 billion every quarter in trade over this “closed” border. Additionally receiving billions in foreign aid which went to corrupt leaders instead of building a single new school.

@GergelyOrosz It’s very good to know 1-2 *useful* things from other fields. Makes you so much more valuable to a company than just being a “coder”.

@AgileJebrim Single node is nice but the reality is most big tech places have multiple downstream servers, then you start coming up with creative solutions like threadpools and containers/sharing cpu time.

This is like the hawk tuah podcast meme but real life.
Leopold Aschenbrenner’s SITUATIONAL AWARENESS predicts we are on course for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by 2027, followed by superintelligence shortly thereafter, posing transformative opportunities and risks. This is an excellent and important read :.

@Acerola__t If they had posted something pro-Trump you wouldn’t be saying this. People just don’t want politics injected into every single possible thing. That’s why people in both the left and right are getting targeted in these blocks.
