New data shows that zero cars are using any of the roads I walked on tonight, including the "opened to cars" Queen Elizabeth. Watch this video as a great example. I've got nearly two and a half minutes and not one car passed me.

New data shows that very few cyclists and pedestrians are using Queen Elizabeth Driveway when it's closed to cars. Watch this video as a great example. When I recorded it yesterday afternoon, not a single pedestrian or cyclist passed me for the entire two and a half minutes.
Tonight I lodged a Formal Complaint to the Integrity Commissioner of Ottawa against the Mayor of Ottawa
@JimWatsonOttawa
for violating at least 4 of the Councillor Code of Conduct rules 1/5
Anyone else take typing in high school? I had just discovered computers (‘79) and taking that class helped me the rest of my schooling and career immensely
Next time someone says cyclists impact emergency vehicles, imagine 200 drivers in this situation. We communicated & got out of the way. Same has been said by many on QED when they saw everyone just move out of the way. Another anti-bicycle bingo card entry the mayor uses

Pedestrians are not “road users” they’re just trying to walk across the street and you’ve targeted them with your abuse but not anyone who’s turning right on a red?
Guess how many seconds it cost me to give a cyclist some room to merge and also get in the bike lane too. ZERO! There was also a very aggressive/distracted driver behind me and I wanted to ensure a barrier as well.

While many things happened these last few weeks with regards to Mr. Watson's response to the occupation, the actions this week regarding the interference in the Police Services Board was beyond reproach 2/5

I see
@_MarkSutcliffe
is happy to use the mute button against
@ArielTroster
and ramble on with his own answer to the question instead of letting OPS actually answer the question. New mayor, same as the old.
The specific rules around Informal and Formal Complaints is outlined here. Future Mayors must be made to understand that such meddling is unwelcome and unbecoming of the Mayor of the Capital of Canada. 4/5
You cut funding for transit and are not giving riders a refund or free transit for this debacle. Instead you whine about 2.3 Km of road you can’t drive on for part of the day to work.
To the people of Ottawa: I will repeat what I have said before. I, along with the leadership
@ottawacity
and
@OC_Transpo
, will not rest until we have a train service that is safe and reliable for everyone.
An open thread to all councillors. When we complain about a new cycle track because it’s not perfect it’s because we want it to be perfect. If there’s something in the design that’s going to make someone uncomfortable or situations dangerous then that’s an issue 1/7
Fun times when you take photos of people texting in their cars while you walk buy and they then park and run after you and threaten to beat you up and steal your phone.
Quite telling that the mayor
@_MarkSutcliffe
did not (a) attend this opening or, (b) even acknowledge the new bridge opening. He did post about
#autowa
racing on a street saying that it was fun
Even the Five-0 realize how scary riding across the Bank St bridge is. This post isn’t a dig at them, it’s a post against our city and lack of infrastructure and walk your bike signs everywhere
@CapitalWard
We’ve signed an offer to lease agreement with
@LiveNationON
to open a live music and entertainment venue at 47-57 Rideau Street in the heart of the Capital.
This mid-size music venue will bring new life to this area of the downtown core.

I edited the video and removed anything that might be associated with looking at the road. It's 1 minute of distracted driving of the total 2 minute video. Is that what the dictionary calls "inadvertent" George?

The NCC roads were not built as commuter routes. We’re in a climate crisis. Stop using every square inch of land in this city for drivers to drive or park on. Build and maintain efficient transit, invest in alternative transport methods. We’re a Capital!
Now more than ever, innovative and experimental ideas are needed to increase the dynamism & sustainability of our cities.
Hear from
@Tobi_nussbaum
on how active use on the capital’s scenic parkways contributes to creating a sustainable urban experience➡
Here is why you cannot vote for this person.
@Eli_ElChantiry
was cited in the Integrity Commissioner’s Yearly report for his conduct against citizens. He’s stifled the PSB meeting participation. He’s done deals with the Mayor to remove members from the PSB forcefully.
I’m very proud to have the support of city councillor
@Eli_ElChantiry
. Eli, thanks for the chat today and for your amazing commitment to our community.
I had a Zoom meeting with several
@ottawacity
streets today. They expressed their willingness to give up unused lanes to facilitate both safe distancing and active transportation. They said they're not really sure why the mayor was slowing this transition.

Here’s the uncomfortable exchange between Marty Carr and a citizen delegate at Council meeting today. The delegate was also not allowed to respond due to
@_MarkSutcliffe
muting them. Council and the mayor cannot do this to delegates
