A vehicle traveling on Perth Road, South Frontenac Twp, this morning crossed the roadway and went through a fence, before hitting a house. The pick-up truck also hit two vehicles parked in the driveway. Frontenac OPP, along with help from South Frontenac Fire Service extricated the driver, who required medical assistance and was transported to the hospital by Paramedics. No structural damage was reported to the residence. Perth Road was closed for a period of time for emergency services to work safely.^rm #FrontenacOPP #SFFR #SouthFrontFireRescue

Ahead of #Ontario Snowmobile Safety Week, #GrenvilleOPP is out this weekend conducting RIDE spot checks and speed enforcement along trails around @North_Grenville, @twpec and @TownofPrescott. Over the past 10 seasons, 145 snowmobilers lost their lives in #OPP jurisdictions. Key factors leading to these fatalities included excessive speed and impairment. #OttawaOPP charged a tow truck driver after police stopped the tow truck for safety equipment violations. The driver was also found to be operating illegally in Ontario. The driver is facing a combined 13 charges under the Towing and Storage Safety Enforcement Act (TSSEA) , Highway Traffic Act, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The vehicle was impounded for seven days under the TSSEA. #OttTraffic ^mf

East Region OPP TIME team member stopped this vehicle traveling at an excessive speed of 191 kms/h in a posted 100 kms/h zone while driving on the 416 highway into Ottawa. A 26 year old driver from Gatineau was stopped and charged with stunt driving. The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, while the driver's licence was suspended for 30 days. There could be fines up to $10,000 dollars and a further licence suspension upon conviction.^rm #416hwy #OPP

The safety and security of everyone in Ontario includes a focus on preventing elder abuse and providing support for seniors. Detective Sergeant Heidi Pautsch and Sergeant Cynthia Savard, with the OPP’s Crime Prevention and Community Support Bureau (CPCSB), recently presented to law enforcement agencies and community partners across the province about programs and resources developed by CPCSB members. The goal is to ensure police officers and others who interact with potentially vulnerable people are aware of the best practices. The goals are to prevent elder abuse and to recognize even subtle signs of abuse or neglect. ^bd

This vehicle was stopped in South Frontenac Twp by an officer for having snow covering the windows on all sides. It is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act if you don't remove the snow for a clear view. It's safer for everyone and could lead to a fine! ^rm #FrontenacOPP

A head-on collision northeast of Belleville has left one person with serious injuries. It happened just before 7:30pm on Wednesday February 5th, on Shannonville Road, between Shannon Road and Scuttlehole Road. Officers with the #LACOPP, Tyendinaga Township firefighters and Hastings Quinte Paramedics all responded to the scene. One person had to be extricated from a vehicle by firefighters. The lone occupant of one vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The three people in the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries. The investigation by members of the L&A County OPP, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigation team members, is continuing. ^bd

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit has charged two people and seized illegal drugs in the Amherstview area of Loyalist Township. On Wednesday, February 5th, Street Crime Unit officers, assisted by members of the #LACOPP, OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Huff Avenue. They also conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Amherst Drive. Two people were arrested. Investigators seized suspected #fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. Officers also seized a vehicle and items typically associated with drug trafficking. A 22-year-old man from South Frontenac and a 37-year-old woman from Loyalist Township are facing drug trafficking and other charges. Both were held for a bail hearing. #OPPCSCU

In a joint effort between #OttawaOPP and the #OPPTIME Team, officers conducted #DistractedDriving enforcement on #Hwy417 during rush hour traffic this morning. A total of 16 drivers were charged with Distracted Driving, including one driver who was watching a TV show!
