During my first term in office, I was offered an all-expenses paid trip to Taipai, Taiwan for over a week. I could not rationalize how this trip would benefit the people of Ottawa so I declined and spent that week working for my residents, exactly what I was elected to do.

Today police say last night there were a grand total of 150 people at what they call “illegal occupation” and under 400 vehicles. So the Emergencies Act used for 150 people? The Emergency Measures Act , OPs and OPP could not deal with that small number in the nation’s capital?

Today, Coun @dianedeans and I met with the owner of Otto's BMW on Hunt Club. She is proposing to rezone up to 4 acres of abutting forested land to be used as a parking lot/storage facility. Another option is being considered I was very clear, I will not support this zoning change

City Council has endorsed my motion, seconded by Transit Commission Chair Gower, to provide free transit fares to all children aged 0-12, effective July 1, 2023. Children aged 0-7 present-day benefit. Children aged 8-12 as of July 1. This is a permanent policy change.

According to the Ottawa Business Journal, Germain Hotels plans to start laying the groundwork next week for construction of a 178-room Alt Hotel at the Ottawa International Airport. Estimated cost: $55 million No taxpayer money for this project...and yet, it is now proceeding.

Bus on time performance in Dec 2023: 61% (route frequency 15min+) This is one of the key metrics I look at. OC is stuck in the mud on this one. Data for every month, all year is 58-66%. Basically, 2/5 buses are not on schedule. Focus on reliability, ridership will go up.

The Hog's Back (Waterfall) Bridge will reopen today at 5pm. This includes the re-opening of Hog's Back Road from Col By to Riverside Drive. The repairs and restoration by the federal govt on both Hog's Back Bridges has been appreciated. We are pleased to see this completed.

This evening, the CEO of Hydro Ottawa reports 85,000 customers remain without power. Since the storm hit, they were able to reconnect 95,000 customers. They hope to reconnect up to 7,000 customers over-night. Slowly but safely, they will get the job done.

The Airport's line that the 10 acres of Hunt Club Woods have to come down for safety reasons is a prime example of their neglect of these public lands. They ignored a Council motion to discuss this matter. Their own Board members confirmed this wasn't even raised with them.

To OC Transpo passengers and taxpayers of Ottawa: One year has passed, the wounds are still raw. A world class LRT system was promised, but not delivered. There was chaos in stations. The bus system deteriorated. The system will be fixed - you deserve it, you paid for it.

The Hydro Ottawa CEO reported that 70,000 customers have been reconnected, 110,000 remain without. He estimated vast majority to be reconnected in 2-4 days. Crews from NB and 100 contractors are working in Ottawa. Crews from Toronto Hydro arrive tomorrow.

Thank-you @cmckenney ! Every meeting with the Chief I have asked, what are the daily objectives to reduce the size of the occupation, enforce laws, protect citizens. Little progress has been made. The people of Ottawa demand concrete action now.
