Principles for career building:
1. Take 2-3 year long shots and aspire to be the best in what you do (forget the past and future)
2. Work on the edge - areas which will expand and open more doors
3. Work with people you aspire to become over time

Diwali + this movie on Cartoon Network was such a solid tradition. Takes me back to so many happy memories. Didn't know that the Japanese had a part in making it :)

Cute fanboy moment with

B: Oh that’s when you started writing consistently on Quora
A: Man, you know me really well

A gentle reminder for you to be a little extra kind and empathetic with every soul around you. Everyone is fighting some battle (esp. in India rn), sometime very discreet and the last thing you want to do is to add on the challenge.
As I get to learn more about successful companies built over time, I realise it’s more a factor of focusing and doing simple, obvious things consistently than figuring out some out of the box, whacky and unknown insight.
A gentle reminder I received today to stay humble, empathetic and be grateful for whatever I have
PS: For those finding it difficult to understand the image, I saw (possibly) a delivery guy sleeping on his scooter on the main road, in the middle of the day.
Hi all,
@aggarishabh
and I are looking for a third amigo for our 3BHK flat in Indiranagar (double road). Excellent location and wholesome surroundings. DM for more deets! Please spread further for good karma :)
Usually start my pitch calls asking if things are safe and okay. Met a young founder today who’s dad passed away last Sunday. When I offered to postpone the call, he declined, saying he has to learn to live with this. Wish I could have 1% of courage and resilience he carries.
Would ideally refrain from writing on these matters, but I feel it's important to reveal the unfiltered state of the world we are living in. The thread below gives a backdrop of how I lost my grandpa, last week, to something I still haven’t been able to come to terms with yet 1/n
“Debt defines your future, and when your future is defined, hope begins to die.”
Not only does hope begin to die, but the number of outcomes you can endure does, too.
A Munger’s quote I’ve been contemplating on (as seen of Li Lu’s Himalayan Capital’s website) -
“The highest form which civilisation can take is a seamless web of deserved trust. Not much procedure, just reliable people correctly trusting one another.”
We are excited to partner with Kiwi (), India’s first startup to launch ‘credit on UPI’ to disrupt the Indian credit card industry.

Sometimes this moat can backfire too. Tally's complexity has given rise to companies like Vyapar and Flowbiz to offer easy to use tools and capture the bigger pie of the SMB digitization wave.
The biggest moat for a tool is when it becomes a skill
Notion, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok will see little churn because its power users are skilled at using it
The original gangster is Microsoft Office, which has graduated from skill to certification
Terminal value is such a counter intuitive yet beautiful concept. Majority of the net worth of an individual will be decided in the last 10 working years. In the formative years, it’s the decisions that matter way more than the outcome.
I was curious re. Substack’s new valuation of $650mm and how the underlying business justifies the value
the key to understanding Substack’s model is that of a labor marketplace (writers as “supply” + readers as “demand”)
the drivers: # paying readers, AOV, # subs, % take rate
Final update - Despite so much effort, prayers and support, Bauji left us behind for something grander on 5th May. He was my cheat-sheet to life. Also played a huge role in making me become the person I am today. As long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss.

Realised sales is tough, especially when selling SaaS to Indian SMEs (remembering my first cold call still gives me chills).

Banks have had a monopoly on the enablement of some of the most important and enjoyable moments in people’s lives. BaaS busts this monopoly head-on with better products customized across life stages. The next decade of banking is going to be so much better.

Investing is about putting money behind an opinion of what will happen in the future. Yet, traditional assets like stocks don’t provide direct exposure to event outcomes.

auto drivers in Indiranagar have found a new hack. For late night trips (post 12a) they start the rides before even picking the passenger (cause no OTP) and don’t attend any calls. The passenger will have to cancel it asap and also pay for it.
