Things to not miss in Hampi!
1/n Mango Tree Restaurant - I was told my multiple people to check out this place, very nice, sort of crowded but has a unique yum veg thali with even tomato soup and watermelon in it
I love how rice has become my comfort food since I’ve moved to bangalore.
Back at home in Delhi, chawal only meant rajma chawal and chole chawal
📍Nagarjuna, Koramangala
Tried Natraj and Anand Chole Bhature, and Natraj is a clear winner!
📍 Best Chole Bhature in Blr
P.S.: I’m from Delhi so my chole bhature judgement can be trusted
My office lunch buddies are all in their mid 30s - married/married w kids/single not wanting to get married/married and buying their first house
I love how topics of discussion are so different with them
Such a pretty place 2 hours away from blr!
Another reason why blr is pretty great actually
📍Vatadahosahalli Lake
P.S.:) Another trip that sort of came out of Flâneur Travel Community
Played football for the first time!
Feeling like i’ve missed this side of bangalore where people get together to play sports and chat later over breakfast.
Best part is it was super beginner friendly.
📍 Golden Leg, HSR 14th main
Mom dad are visiting blr, any recommendations?
I already received a few:
✅ nagarjuna
✅ bangalore palace
✅ rameshwaram/amudham
✅ away from the city to mysore
✅ cubbon
What else?
Played pickleball for the first time!
Now I get the hype, it’s SO fun
It’s like a combination of all racquet sports I’ve heard of?
📍Coolulu Turfpark Koramangala
Bangalore check-list:
✅ work at a startup
✅ run a 5k/half marathon
✅ Make a friend at the airport/airport shuttle
✅ go to cubbon
✅ get a cult subscription(and regret it)
What else?
4/n Anjandri for Sunrise!
576 steps to Hanuman Ji’s birth place. Super pretty, a lot of people come to find a spot and watch it peacefully. Calming experience. The climb isn’t hard either.
Going to office early to learn tauba tauba hook step w a colleague so that we could teach everyone in office later today.
I like high-energy startup folks 🫰
5/n Virupaksha Temple!
It is the most popular temple in Hampi, so ofcourse you cannot missout on this! Don’t forget to take the guide, it has rich history and it will only make sense if a good guide explains it all. I was advised this - passing it on :)
Have recently started learning Tennis and now I get why entire blr is obsessed with fitness
Impossible to stay active w 10 hour laptop time and 0 physical activity
Today I complete 1 year in blr <3
10/10 recommended to anyone wanting to be in a startup city optimised for youth!
1 year of working at a startup, getting introduced to trekking, running, getting obsessed w meghana biryani, renting first house & more :)
2/n Drive through the Sanapur Lake
We had a scooty with us which made it super fun and easy to keep driving ahead with a 360 degree view. At some point it was surreal and seemed endless. A delight to experience for sure
6/n Stay at Hampi Feathers if you’re ok to spend a lil bit extra
Hampi Feathers, Hampi Whiskers and Boulders are all managed by the same person. Boulders is on higher end and the best followed by the other two.
Extremely pretty property, good service, great in-house kitchen!
3/n Try the Coracle Ride!
They ask you if you want to do a long one or a short one, long one was rs 2000 for the boat which could accomodate 3 people! I suggest go during the sunrise/ sunset!
It’s also used to go to the other side of Hampi. 10/10
n/n
Other things to do that we missed out on because we only had 48 hours:
- Vittala temple
- Cliff jumping
- Daroji Bear Sanctuary
- Pampa Sarovar
- Whispering Rocks Restaurant
- Malyawanth Temple
- TB Dam Road
- Matananga Hill for Sunset
- Boulderinng!!!
Woke up so stressed and anxious, but playing tennis made it 100x better. Wish I had taken fitness so seriously since childhood. So good for both physical and mental heath.
7/n Try the Nest Cafe.
It’s inside the Hampi Feathers property but open for all. Great lake view and decent food. Breakfast buffet was delicious. They do north indian better than south indian food for sure
Crazy that we spend most of our lives chasing career/money but end up talking about the person we lost on the way when asked about the saddest moment in life
📍 Mango Trails, Green Getaways
Who knew dropping engineering to join a liberal arts uni will turn out to be the best decision ever?
Super inspired and in awe of the talent and outlook Ashokans carry with them.
And what better than hearing the story of coming of Ashoka from the man himself
