Assessment isn’t a post-mortem. It’s the lifeblood of teaching. Specify what counts, teach it, check it, fix it. Stop sorting, start teaching. Make 100% possible for everyone. New piece on five principles of assessment that actually improve teaching 👇

Schools move forward with urgency and every adult has a choice: get on board or get out of the way. The same is true of consistency. If even one adult steps out of line, the whole ship judders. https://t.co/MG4aQSEYH8

Great blog by @AlexJQuigley with a timely reminder that adaptive teaching must build in opportunities to stretch and challenge through task design, questioning and reflection.

Excellent blog which very much mirrors my views on inclusion being about all pupils being in lessons, learning.

In too many schools, "support" has become a quiet permission to step away from learning. Side rooms. Exit cards. Safe spaces. Extra adults. Somewhere along the way, we stopped asking the obvious question: why are we removing children from the very place where they’re meant to

The 'curse of knowledge': again and again, I see this prevent the curricular thoroughness necessary for inclusion. This is from my speech to @Education_NI on role of curriculum in school improvement. Full speech is here: https://t.co/ak8dlnEERH
