1/ Our corridors echo with silence as students transition in single file, on the left and facing forward. Punctuality is impeccable; truancy is nonexistent. Leaving early passes are unnecessary.

Welcomed at the gate by 15 members of staff (5 each gate). Lots of smiles, modelling good manners and politeness. Ready to learn gate served a number of our students to ensure everyone was 100% ready to learn from min 1. Maximised learning, reduced disruption. Great team effort!

Today the first paragraph of my inset session unfolded in front of us…Year 7 went through the gate. The first 20 lined up, then 30, 40…finally 200! Every child lined up, no instruction from any adult. People follow people…create norms that positively impact your culture 🙏🏻
I have really enjoyed putting this together with our middle leaders. Part of our form curriculum we will be implementing Knowledge is Power. Students will self quiz with their own booklet - improving learning habits and resulting in them knowing/remembering more 🙏🏻
Who is the person that is really happy for your success. The one that genuinely celebrates your successes like their own.
If you have those people in your life, you are winning.
Loved putting together the pastoral bulletin today. Looking back at a great half term. Next week we celebrate two year groups with non-uniform days (including their form tutors & year team) and the big golden ticket raffle 🙏🏻

What a brilliant first few days I’ve had in my new school. Staff supportive of each other, students absolutely superb and we as SLT in and around lessons all day supporting. I am shattered already. Bed Friday night....wake up Monday morning. Who’s with me? 🙋🏻♂️
Our Vice Principal sent a ‘belonging form’ round for staff to complete asking to share the impact students have on the culture of our academy. Last week was for two students needing a confidence boost.
