@RepSlotkin The phrase means the desire of Palestinians to live free of a military dictatorship. You are referring to Hamas’s co-optation of the phrase in the late 1980s. The phrase predates Hamas by nearly 3 decades, born out of nonviolent protest in the 1960s.

@lhfang Re-read the DOJ report on Ferguson. The major findings weren’t that cops were killing people indiscriminately, it was that they were badgering the citizens of Ferguson, and over ticketing them to raise revenue. There are other ways to abuse power aside from shooting people.
