I think it is time to admit that Trump is going to kill more people than George W Bush did in addition to doing more damage in general. The savvy left consensus has been that W is the very worst modern president but I don't think it's sustainable anymore.

@SamSacks @AliceFromQueens I can definitely see a case for quitting social media altogether on mental health grounds! But Bluesky strikes me as a facsimile Twitter for people who want to wall off reality while still replicating all the same unhealthy dynamics.

@TheDuhalde @michaelbd @AliceFromQueens There's a lot of gatekeeping, the site elders really don't want people who don't agree with them on everything getting a foothold there and make it as hostile as possible. The reply guys there are genuinely deranged.

@SamSacks @AliceFromQueens The whole notion that you can opt out of Elon's world when he basically controls the federal government now strikes me as silly. Everyone over there is obsessed with Elon. Might as well stay here.

@michaelbd @AliceFromQueens It would be bad enough if it were just the most sanctimonious 40% of Twitter libs and no one else, but there's a self-congratulatory aspect to it that's actually radicalizing them away from reality. Old Twitter kept them honest.
